The classic favor debate...

Re: The classic favor debate...

  • Any suggestions for non-edible favors? My fear with a candy buffet would be trying to get rid of candy for months afterward, just personally. I want to skip favors, but we'll probably have guests driving in from out of town, so I'm a little concerned that maybe we should have a little something-something.

  • @jules3964 OMG a tower of vegan cupcakes sounds amazing!!
  • We're doing little glass jars from Michael's filled with candy and a ribbon tied around them. We also are having a photo booth
  • Instead of doing actual favors we are going to make a donation to a charity. We debated from edible favors to candles and wine stoppers. Ultimately we both decided it would be nicer to make a donation. We are not making the donations in the names of our guest. What I am going to do is post a sign thats nicely framed near the place cards that basically says "In lieu of traditional favors we have made a donation to such and such foundation/charity.

If you had a lot of leftovers from a candy buffet, you could just give it away as Halloween candy!

  • We are doing charity donations as well.  We spent what we would have on favors and donated to 2 charities that are special to us.  Our guests are familiar with these charities as well.  We are also using seed paper escort cards which our guests can take home and plant.
