Hey ladies! So I was wondering what kind of bras you all wear when working out, especially running. I am a double d so it is hard enough to find a regular bra that is comfy and supports, but now I need some for running so I don't knock myself out lol. TIA!!!!

  • As a fellow double D, I highly reccommend looking at the under armor sports bras. I have lived by them ever since I got my first and I run pretty much daily!

Moving Comfort is the best!I At the time I got it, I measured on the small side of a D, wore C bras normally and bought this bra in a B. (I always order down in sports bras) http://www.rei.com/product/803129/moving-comfort-juno-sports-bra  It's a bit on the tight side now because I've gained some weight.  :(  I need to buy a new one, and I will definitely be buying this same brand.  My mom uses Moving Comfort as well and loves them.

It's a bit tight getting on over the head, but that's not big deal for me. I also really like their straps.  They are adjustable using something akin to velcro, but not the same. It's never itchy and never comes undone.

I have worn it in all kinds of high-impact activities (running, downhill skiing, mountain biking) and have never had a problem with bouncing.
  • I'm a B/C, but I wear Nike and Under Armor mostly. The Nike ones seem to say if they're little, medium or lots of support. I stick with medium to lots cos I don't want no saggy boobs later

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the help.

  • VSX sport. I am a DD as well, they are pricey but worth it
  • It's a full support sports bra from Victoria's secret
  • I like the VSX ones as well.

  • I also like Moving Comfort. They're they most comfortable sports bras I've ever purchased.
  • VSX from Victoria's Secret is amazing. I'm a 32 DD and this gives the perfect amount of support and is very comfortable and true to size.

  • Sorry I have none so I'm no help. Is there a difference between a regular bra and a sports bra? If so, this has motivated me to buy sport bras. I've started working out again so I might need them too. I wish our underwear wasn't so expensive grrr.

  • Also a DD here.  I like the max support ones from VS, Moving Comfort, and I can actually run in the Energy Bra from Lululemon even though the tag says light support.  I think it's because it's not cup sized, so it's made for a smaller lady and as a result just gives me tons of compression.

  • Gah.... and now after visiting this thread, my Facebook is overrun with ads for VS Sport.

@shrekspeare's 90s-tastic sandals from Amazon were following me around the interwebz last week.

    Damn cookies.

Yesssss even as a small chested lady, I love the extra support/comfort a sports bra gives me.  I also get ones with moisture wicking fabric because I sweat like a mofo.  (I've gone for runs/workouts in a regular bra in a pinch, and they were pretty nasty by the time I got done.)

Not to mention, on really hot days, I can strip my shirt off without feeling like I'm giving a show to the people driving by.

  • I got the VSX Knockout I think?  It clips, then zips up the front.  I used to wear a regular bra with a sports bra over it for riding horses, and this thing is designed just like that only in 1 piece.  I think the one I bought is a 34DDD.

Yeah all of this. I'm not especially busty (34C) but a bad bra gets itchy/chafy fast (sorry) when I do anything high-impact like running or kick boxing. Gotta strap those puppies down so they don't bounce around in there. Sweat wicking is a big deal, plus you'll be able to move more comfortably in a sports bra for weight lifting and stretching than you would in a regular bra.

  • When I started spending money on my workout clothes and saw the value of really good, sweat-wicking fabric, I swear it's like my whole life changed.  I legitimately work out more often because a) I look cute but mostly b) I'm no longer drowning in my own sweat.

  • I have a few Moving Comfort bras, I'm a 36D. I get the high impact ones and use them for my workouts, and when we go backpacking. Very comfortable and they provide great support!

Ditto all of this. The thought of exercising in a regular bra makes me want to die.

Sports bras keep you the girls down while still allowing you freedom of movement and good ones keep you from drowning in your own sweat while working. Wicking sports bras are a Godsend.

Most of mine are Under Armour or Nike. If you've got an outlet near you, swing through. They have some decent deals usually.

The VSX Knockout is great, I think there might be two different types, but the zippy/bra combo one is perfect.  Keeps everything supported but separate. CLICK
I've also had weird success with Target's high/maximum support bras. CLICK They are also half the price of other sports bras and go on sale frequently so that is a plus.

My sister and my mom both swear by the Lululemon tata tamer but I've never used it.  CLICK

Thanks everyone! I didn't mean to threadjack sorry op! I grew up with a lot of guy influence so there's a lot I don't know. I've never had a bra fitting. I wear a 36B right now so I guess I'm on the small/average side. Well I guess I need to go and buy some then! I do sweat a lot too so hopefully those will help.

  • I love the underarmor sports bras. I'm super flat chested. But I love how it doesn't chafe and wicks away moisture.
  • I get mine through Title 9- they do a barbell rating on how well they hold you in/cover.  I love the 7 Wonders bra; they don't go ANYWHERE.

  • I love a good sports bra. DH has to sometimes pull them off of me, if I'm sweaty and sore and had a good workout. I just hate that I have to buy new ones several times a year though, sine they stretch out too much for my liking. I like them tight!!

  • 36 D here. I like the champion lined no cup/wire sports bras. Im also on the couch to 5k program now and I dont feel them bouncing much....then again, I feel the belly and butt/hips/thighs jiggling so maybe im ignoring my boobs
  • I have serious boob envy reading this thread.  SO MANY BIG BOOBS HERE.

I have the opposite--I envy people's normal-sized boobs. As a 40J, I have yet to find a sports bra that holds the ladies in place while allowing me to breathe. Jogging is dangerous for me.

@Chipmunk415 I'm doing Couch to 5K as well! My friends reccommended it to me. I really like it because it just tells me what to do. How are you liking it?

Im only on week 2 but I like it a lot. I feel like the workout goes by really fast, and I get an endorphin high on it. I have the app on my phone and I set that on my treadmill to listen to the instructions while I go. I feel like I'm working towards a goal that is not strictly weight loss. Once I can do the whole thing, I want to start the 10k program and work on speed.

Ive a friend who is also on the program with me. Even though she's living 5 hrs away, we monitor each other.
