Unimpressed rant of the day..

Rant of the day....because it's one of those days....

So, my H's birthday is next week, and I ordered one of his gifts from Amazon.ca. I tracked it yesterday, just to get a rough idea of when it was to arrive, and it said it had already been delivered. So, the website has that option to look into the details of the delivery, and it showed what time it was scanned out, what time it was in the truck, and what time it "apparently" arrived at our house. Which it never did, and hasn't. So I call Canada Post first, and because Amazon paid for the shipping, I can't personally file the complaint, but I can file that packaged mail isn't being delivered to the proper address/is lost, etc. (The address confirmed with Amazon is correct, it just never arrived). So the post office said that Amazon has to bring it up with them. So I call Amazon, and they said they can't file a lost parcel yet, because it is too early. (I guess they have a timeline for lost stuff). Although, they can re-mail what I ordered again, and it should be here by Friday. My only issue is, I need it for next week, and if it wasn't delivered the first time, who's to say it will actually ever get here?? Ugh. I don't have time nor patience to go out & shop for something completely different because of the postal incompetence.

On top of that, I get to work this morning, and the power's out. So we all sit outside and wait, (as the air conditioner is also down), my boss gets me to run across town to do an errand, I get back, work for less than an hour, and then they send me home, because it's not worth wage cost to have everyone there. I get it on the business end, but it was a waste of the day. The one decent thing though, my boss offered to buy H and I dinner, in exchange for running errands. So *that* I won't complain about! I have plans tonight, but opted for dinner tomorrow night instead. So, it wasn't a complete loss anyways.

Now, I get to start house cleaning! Even more fun! Anyone else having a blah day??

  • When Amazon lost a delivered Christmas present, the overnighted me the replacement. Keep bugging them.

I will be calling again for sure, if it's not here with the mail Friday! Obviously it likely got sent to the wrong address, and instead of returning it, or sticking it in my mail box, whoever got it, kept it. I honestly won't care, as long as it's here by H's bday! Not that it's Amazon's fault either, but it's the first time I've used them, and will be the last if it's not here by Wednesday! :(

  • The packers come tomorrow. Still trying to get organized for them, I lost an entire day yesterday because of course this week DS would get sick for the first time and he ran a fever all day and all night. So I spent most of the day trying to keep his temperature under control and him comfortable and didn't get a whole lot of sleep.

  •  My package was found and returned to me!! Yay! So I got the original gift today, called Canada Post to let them know I'd received it, then called Amazon as well. The second replacement gift was already in transit, & accidentally marked as hazardous. I had them double check that it was marked accidentally, (which it was), but because it got scanned out as hazardous, they can't accept it back, and I can just keep it! I won't lie, I do feel a little guilty to now have 2 items for the price of one, but I'm definitely happy the problem was resolved, and I have his gift before his birthday! Having 2 of these is fairly useless, but I can definitely use it as a gift to one of my brothers or something! :) They were quick, and helpful with the problem, & I'll definitely shop with them again!

Sorry to hear your little guy's sick! I don't have children, but I can only imagine how stressful it is to try & organize packing, on top of take care of a sick child. Hopefully it's something quick, and he'll be up & feeling better before your move! :)

  • A really awful customer called our office after hours and left a message with the answering service, then immediately called me on my cell phone. I answered it, and he could hear beeping in the background, so he asked what it was. I explained that I was at the grocery store. I have no problem saying this because it's after hours and he should be excited that I actually fucking answered his call and didn't send him to voicemail.

He called the office Monday and told my mom that I am unreliable and unprofessional because he called me the other day and I was at the store. L O MOTHERFUCKING L.

I'm surprised he didn't complain a few SATURDAYS ago when my mom answered the phone while we were at a Mexican restaurant and there was loud conjunto norteño music playing in the background. Apparently that was ok, but picking up the phone when I'm buying cheese at market basket isn't.

Thanks.  The packers came today so now I'm sitting surrounded by boxes.  DS decided to add a rash to the mix so I have to stop the antibiotics and take him to the doctor in the morning.  Fortunately so far it's just a rash (and some really horrible diapers) but no difficulty breathing or anything like that.  Which means we will be at the doctor's while DH gets to deal with the loaders and then we head out sometime this weekend.  Provided DS is okay to travel.  I'd hoped to have time to set up a new Pediatrician where we are going but it looks like I may need it sooner rather than later.

I have no idea why I laughed so hard at these two words.  Just awesome.
