Re: it's FRIIIIIIIIDAYYYYY!!!

  • Oh goddamnit. Can't open my reactor (antiseize my ass), got my oven heated improperly so I get to work late, and got a hysterical phone call from my mom that the flowers don't match and won't work. And now daisies are out of season.

    Beer. Now.

  • @lmcooper86 Yeah, I feel a little guilty too about whining after looking at Nelson Mandela's Google Doodle. First World Problems for sure. :(

  • @swazzle- I did not realize how spendy the tolls are in NJ/NY!! That's ridiculous! I'm used to paying like $.30 on the mass pike lol Literally everything in NJ/NY is outrageously expensive it seems.

  • @keptinstitches oh so many hugs and so much beer headed your way! Research is the worst when it's being finicky :( I've been so tempted (since I don't have a teaching job yet) to go back to school for ChemE (I think i would actually do Structural/mech though just due to the industries around here...but my heart is in chem obvies) just to like have better job prospects. That's a terrible reason to go back to school if it's not my passion. So I'm living vicariously through you
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @blue, it's a labor of love, all right, especially since most of the jobs available are shift work. I got help opening my reactor, so that got loaded with the next material today. My work is done so I'm just waiting to see what the stuff I baked looks like. And now we're maybe scrapping the teal and trying again with jewel tones for the flowers.

So life is getting better as the day goes on.
  • @keptinstitches phew.  I would have smacked your mom already though so you are a bigger human than me :)

  • @blue I really can't blame her. She had a friend over who is good with color, and when the color-talented friend told her it didn't match ... well, we have to try again. I'm more inclined to smack the FI for picking such a hard to match color. We'll work it out - we can perhaps keep the darker teal daisies and maybe look at some other flowers to fill in.
  • @keptinstitches understandable. My mom was pretty hands off so it's a different world
