How do you pick a wedding coordinator?

Hi Ladies,

I'm in Canada and looking to get married on Maui.  I'm not sure how to start to choose a wedding coordinator.  do you interview them?

    I did research on The Knot and looked at reviews on line.
    I ultimately went with a woman named Tina from Food For The Soul.  We loved them for catering and she does coordination as well.  I emailed her to get a little bit of information and then had a conversation with her on the phone.  I loved her.  She has been amazing so far.

    Just send them an email and request a meeting over the phone - you'll get an idea of their pricing, what's included in their services and their general approach to planning.

    I also read a few articles online about what to ask in an inital conversation/interview.

    I searched on yelp for someone who had good ratings, then also checked wedding wire. You know they are a trustworthy service if they have multiple 5 stars on YELP lol those people are ruthless!
