Outdoor wedding....stressed!!!

Re: Outdoor wedding....stressed!!!

  • LOL we love it when you biddies get all worked up over nothing!
  • No hard feelings. Bye!
  • I know that I and a lot of my friends would not mind sitting on picnic blankets! I really like the folksy feel of it! Again, no money for extra seats, and no money to borrow from other areas. It's all pretty bare bones to begin with! No flowers, the WP gifts are their jewelry so can't nix that, just craft beer!
You don't know that. I am a laid back person. I like picnics, going to beach, watching fireworks, etc. - all activities where I sit on the ground on a blanket. I love these things.

I do not like wearing a dress to a wedding and being asked to sit on a blanket. WTF.

  • In all seriousness though, how is anyone who said you needed a chair for every butt a diva.  Shouldn't the comfort of all your guests be a priority? You make sure your guests are taken care and properly hosted.
  • My step-sister did this exact thing, minus the blankets. She provided benches for about 25 of the 50 people she invited to her beach wedding. Being stared at by people who had to stand through a 30 minute ceremony and then wait, still standing, for the receiving line to move through was not fun. Not much about that wedding was fun.

  • @yndausvi - I am pretty sure saying "your idea is rude" = "you all are bitches"

  • I've got to admit though, not a terrible troll. She didn't bring up every hot button issue right at once but slowly interjected it.

Where you failed though is immediately giving yourself up. You should've let it go on longer, put in a couple more issues, let everyone get crazy "worked up." Then y'all could've talked about more on wedding bee.

Too many exclamation points to be legit. Just way too "Hi there! Tell me if I'm terrible! Here's what I'm doing! "
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Well that was disappointing....

  • If one of my friends or relatives sent out an email saying, "We'd love to borrow lawn chairs for our wedding if anyone has some to spare. We'd be happy to come pick them up," I'd be perfectly happy to loan them ours. The key is that you pick them up, not make them haul them to the ceremony. There's your free option.
  • That was disappointing.  I guess I won't suggest community centers or schools as places to call for inexpensive chairs that aren't churches.

  • I was trying to find the link on WB, but I slowly backed away once I read a something titled, "how to ask parents for money?"

    Nope!!!!!

Actually, the responses on this thread were pretty heartwarming.

"It sounds like you know the answer but you want people to tell you it’s okay for some reason.  It’s not.  Asking people to buy you things is always rude, even if the people are your parents and the thing is your wedding.  If she wants to contribute, she will offer."

By no means am I the etiquette gods, but I tried.  I tried to save their wayward souls...
  • Ahem...I'll own the diva accusation...chairs are good, because chairs.
  • How DARE you ladies suggest she treat her guests well.

  • Umm, the jewelry is a gift because I paid for it for them!
I'm dissapointed in you all.  You totally missed this one.
