  What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  Thanks everyone! FI and his dad had to measure and saw each door because they don't sell them the exact size of 1950's doors. They also pulled down all the weird tiling that was up and put the beadboard paneling with chair rail. 

  We had the original glass doorknobs so I made FI save them all. I'm going to make some sort of craft project, like attach them to wood as a coat/ jewelry hanger or something like that.

  The wainscoting (is that the right word?) looks great. It's funny how little changes can make something look much, much better.
