YAY for the weekend! What does everyone have planned?

Tomorrow FI and I will be driving about an hour away for his ex-roommate's housewarming party. He and his wife moved into their home about a year ago, but had to do a ton of renovations on it, so they're just celebrating now. Apparently they invited over 100 people to it! I'm excited to go because I finally feel like I'm getting to know the SO's of FI's friends pretty well, so I don't have to just hang out with the guys anymore.

Sunday we're meeting with a DJ company on Long Island. We have a quote from them already, which is under budget, and the company has awesome reviews here and on Wedding Wire, so I'm pretty sure we'll end up booking them. I've never hired a DJ before so I'm not quite sure what to ask - any ideas? Also, this company has several DJ's working for it, and I'm not sure who we're meeting with but I'm guessing it's a manager or something - not necessarily the actual DJ who will be working for us. Did any of you book a DJ through a company like that? How did you "choose" your DJ, or how did they assign you one?

Other than that, I neeeeeed to do laundry this weekend and clean my way-too-messy apartment, and we'll have to find time to take the pup to the dog park.

@Hummingbird125 -Our DJ ran his own company so he was the only one and HE WAS AMAZING!! One of our friends recommended him from her wedding which H actually attended before we met and H basically was like yea...I didn't leave the dance floor the whole night lol. I would basically ask the manager what their routine is for weddings and how they go about "MCing" the event? What music do they typically start the evening off with? Is there anything you don't want them to play or have any requests?

Tonight H has to work so I'm going to CrossFit and then coming home to hang out with Maddux for the night. We had friends over last night for dinner so that was kind of like our "fake" friday night. We had margs and nachos and just hung out. It was great.

Saturday we are going to the lake for @LaPeanut1018 's bday! This will be my first lake day this Summer so hopefully I won't get too burnt. H has to work all weekend so that night if we don't do dinner with the family, I will probably just go to bed early since the lake makes me super tired.

Sunday we don't have any plans as of yet. We will probably go to church and clean up around the house a bit. We need a day to just really relax and not have to worry about being anywhere.

TGIF! This has been such a long week.

FI and I don't have any plans tonight. He is suppose to go with his Best Man to pick up their clothes for the wedding, but he hasn't heard back from him, so who knows. We'll probably stay in and watch movies.

Tomorrow morning is my first dress fitting. After that, we are running by Michael's and Joann's Fabrics to get some WR things. We were having a hard time finding mint and teal bowties in our exact colors, so my sister offered to make the bowties if we supply the fabric. Saturday evening is date night. We are going to a movie theater that serves your dinner and drinks at your seat and we're seeing Lucy. I've been wanting to see it for a couple months so I'm pretty excited.

We have no plans for Sunday other than catching up on laundry

If its nice out we may go for a walk at the nature preserve

in less than 3 hours, I have my big interview! I am so nervous... been running back and forth between the bathroom and my desk all morning.

tonight, I need to do my Insanity work out and H has to mow 3 lawns. we'll go out to eat somewhere, and depending on how the interview went (supposedly it's just a formality and the job is mine), we might celebrate.

tomorrow morning H and I are getting up for breakfast at our favorite Guatemalan place. not really any other plans after that... I need to study my PMP stuff and H needs to write his message for Sunday, so I'm sure we'll work on that in the evening. oh, and sometime I need to get groceries.

okay, back to the bathroom... UGH!! hoping my nerves settle down soon.

This weekend I have nothing planned. So I'll make my plans now lol. Tomorrow I will either go to the beach or clean and watch TV at home. Maybe go out to eat tomorrow night or go bowling or to the drive-in...giving myself lots of options!

Sunday will be FI's super delayed 30th birthday party. His birthday was at the end of June, we celebrated as a couple on the day of and that weekend. His mom insisted on having a family birthday party for him, but everyone in his family was busy/had summer plans on the weekend. She is pretty relentless with this kind of stuff...so she has been pushing back his birthday party to practically August. I don't know about you guys but the whole having a delayed birthday party is weird to me. It's lost it's appeal to me and FI, but we're just going along with it to make her happy and not cause any problems. I just think it's really weird.

YAY FRIDAY! I am feeling surprisingly chipper this morning.

Tonight I'm doing chores, running errands, and going to bed early. Tomorrow I'm trying out a new route for my Saturday morning walk. I found an amex offer for a restaurant FI and I have been wanting to try, so we're having dinner there. I'm really excited.

On Sunday we're meeting with an associate pastor at our church to talk about him (hopefully) officiating our wedding. We've seen him around but don't really know him personally, so I'm not sure what to expect from the meeting and I'm a little bit nervous. Really hoping it goes well, because we don't have a backup plan yet.

Finally the weekend!!

Tonight we're stopping by the barn quick to check on the horses then headed over to one of FI's friend's houses for a party. Should be a fun, drunken mess tonight. yay!

Tomorrow we're visiting THE venue! I'm so excited. (Anyone that read page 2 of the What I want board has seen photos.) After that, we're back at the barn since Bo's getting new shoes.

Sunday I think we'll be hanging with FI's family a bit. I don't really know what we'll get up to, but he keeps saying his mom is missing me. So that will happen.

@blabla89 -That's what I thought because I feel like you mentioned Louie Giglio on here once and I went to Passion 2013 with a friend of mine who goes to Passion City Church and I loved hearing Louie's message. I haven't read any of his books yet but I heard they are amazing!

I'm glad you liked our DJ, he is wonderful! Are you still looking or do you think you will go with him?

Today H is off and I'm at work. He's going to do some calling around for vendors to fix various things in our soon-to-be home (it needs electrical, plumbing, basement work, etc.). We will relax tonight after I get home.

Saturday H and I are running errands (bathroom remodel stores, kitchen remodel stores...the works). If my sister is nice enough to watch our dog over the weekend (I might have to beg) then H and I will crash at a hotel Sat night somewhere close to all the remodel stores we are going to out of town.

Sunday I HAVE to catch up on laundry and will be more of a lazy day.

I feel exhausted today I'm so glad it's Friday. Tonight I have no plans, H has a hockey game so I get to sit and relax on my own. I won't complain about that. I'd like to get some things done around the house on Saturday and in the backyard. It would be nice just to go to church and may be head out to dinner somewhere. Sunday won't be anything exciting either. We still don't have a date for our countertops to be installed, so I am in kitchen limbo. I should probably get to the veggie market this weekend and cook a few things though.

@southernpeach89 - I'm pretty sure we are going with him, I've just been procrastinating on wedding stuff and haven't gotten back to him yet. We haven't met with any other DJs but we like him and the price seems reasonable. I will confess that I haven't read any of Louie's books either...but I've heard they're good.

We have NOTHING SCHEDULED this weekend!!! How amazing is that!!

We will have to probably take our bikes for a spin. We ended up cutting back our 75-mile MS: Pedal to the Point ride to 30-Miles because we have evening plans the same day that we forgot about. I'm actually glad because we haven't trained at all and 75-miles seemed like a huge huge number. We have to make sure our bikes are in order this weekend and ready to go for next weekend.

I would like to clean the house up a bit. It's a disaster, it's always a disaster. It's small and I have too much junk and I have a Newfie dog that slobbers EVERYWHERE.

Today is a half day so I am going to go home and check on Tessie. She threw up last night and this morning and I can tell she doesn't feel well because she is extra cuddly. We had a towel in her crate for her to lay on because she was eating the stuffing out of her bed, and she ended up eating some of the towel so we have to wait for it to pass. Silly puppy eats anything!

Tomorrow Tessie is going to my parents and we are going with BF's mom, uncle, and friends on a ferry boat to Spectacle Island in Boston. It leaves the harbor and goes to this Island and they have live music and drinks. Should be very fun!

Sunday we have no plans. I think I'm going to try to convince BF to have a lazy day. We haven't had one since we moved into the house and I think we need it. I'm thinking cuddling, movies and just plain laziness.

Glad it's Friday! Haven't had time to read yet, but I should within the next 2 hours.

Last night FI elbowed me in the eye in his sleep. Ouch. I don't think I have a black eye, but it's definitely swollen even though I put ice on it right away. He was nothing but apologetic but it still hurt like hell.

Tonight, Saturday, and Sunday we're cleaning FI's apartment. Deodorizing the carpet upstairs helped a lot with the odors, so I think we have a lot of hope in getting this place back to a good condition by next Thursday morning.

@KeptInStitches, for the first month or two that FI and I were dating, he elbowed me in the eye like 3 times in the daylight, completely by accident. I was glad when we finally broke that cycle cause it hurt! Hope you're ok!

I hope the swelling goes down. FI use to elbow me in the face multiple times a night when we first started living together. He wasn't use to sharing a bed with anyone and I always gravitate towards the middle of the bed in my sleep, so we were constantly running into each other. He hasn't done it for a long time but he's paranoid about it and asks almost every morning, "I didn't elbow you last night, did I?"

@Blackbird230, @severmilli12, @TwoDimes - thanks! I'm sure I'm fine, just hurts still. He did a good job. I guess what happened is he was too warm last night and when that happens he throws out his elbows (like a chicken dance of doom). My face was just in the way. At least it's impersonal, right?

I'm being an asshole and posting before I've had time to read about everyone else's weekends. I promise to go back and do that as soon as I can.

Tonight I have to clean the apartment. Like a deep clean because my parents will be stopping by tomorrow and my mom would have a heart attack if she saw it as it is now.

Tomorrow I'm going to get a new tattoo with my mom, aunt, and cousin. It's my cousin's first so we'll be having a couple cocktails before we go. Then we're going to a Dinosaur show thing. I won a suite to 4 "family" events when I renewed my Devils season tickets and this is the first event we're using it for. After that, we're going to my aunt's house and having a girl's night. CAH will be played and (hopefully) pickle dip will be eaten.

On Sunday, H is driving down to get me and then we're going to see our SIL and new nephew. We visited them in the hospital the day he was born but she'll get to go home today and I want to go and help out with anything she needs. And snuggle the newborn baby

H has a hockey game after that and when we get home I'll watch Big Brother.

I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS WHOLE WEEKEND. Except for the cleaning part.

ETA: Omg I forget one of the best parts! My mom's 50th birthday is in October and I booked her flights to Seattle and home from San Francisco. Her dream trip is a roadtrip along the coast and I couldn't be more excited to be able to do this for her! I made fake boarding passes with the dates/times and destinations and printed a map of the route and put both in frames. EEK!

@blabla89 I know you will LOVE DJ Dre!!! He did such a fantastic job at @southernpeach89's reception! I really wanted to hire him but he was already booked for our date and I was SO bummed.

@Hummingbird125 The DJ we ended up hiring comes from a similar company. He runs the company and also works with several other DJs. Usually the different DJs offer different packages and "styles" of DJing. So I guess if you want a crazy party you go with one DJ and if you want more of a laid-back cocktail hour style reception then you'd go with someone else. They typically have different pricing and you get to select the DJ that best fits the style of reception you are looking for within your budget.

Today I am working from home. My boss is out of the office so I expect work to be really quiet. Maybe I'll have time to do some laundry and basic cleaning around the house. I plan to "take my lunch" around 4 today so I can take the pup to the dog park since she hasn't been in forever. Tonight FI and I will probably toss grass seed in the back yard and do some much needed weeding and fertilizing.

Tomorrow I'm going to the lake with my family to celebrate my birthday a couple days early! YAY! I really hope @southernpeach89 brings Maddux so we can see him experience the lake for the first time. After the lake we'll eat cake and maybe open presents.

Sunday I have plans to go horseback riding with a coworker. I'm SO ridiculously excited! I haven't been riding in years (with the exception of a lesson I took with my sister a couple years ago now). Afterwards FI and I will probably just hang out and maybe go to the gym.

Monday is my BIRTHDAY!!!! So expect me to be a huge AW. Also, I called my dress salon yesterday and they said my dress could be in either today, or Monday, or Tuesday so keep your fingers crossed it arrives on Monday because BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER! Right?

@severmilli12, Pro tip: Avoid looking in the "wedding" aisle in Arts & Crafts stores. You can find the same things in other aisles, but they won't be labeled "wedding" and they'll be half (or less) of the price. This happened to me with our unity sand.

We have no big plans this weekend. We'll definitely go to the farmer's market tomorrow morning, and go grocery shopping for next week. I'll likely do some cooking/baking. I will also pick up the house a bit.

Other than that, it'll be a pretty normal/lazy weekend. And I'm ok with that. It's been a pretty stressful week, so I'm excited about unwinding.

I had plans tonight, but those just got cancelled. I have nothing for saturday, so maybe I will try and finish that depressing book I can't seem to take too much of in one sitting. And then sunday I have a 2-year-old's birthday party, so that should also be boring, haha.

Basically my one goal for the weekend is to continue not smoking. And the best way to ensure that is to not drink either. So my life will be dull for the next short while. I know it's just the lack of nicotine messing with my head, but I've been so down on myself the last 3 days. I've only gained two pounds, but I feel huge. My b/f is being so sweet, but I keep isolating myself once I get home. . . I think I just need something fun to do this weekend, but unfortunately there is nothing planned.
