Life Resume- reverse bucket list!

A few years ago I had come up with what I call my Life Resume. A list of all the cool things that I've accomplished or done in life and I thought it would be neat to post them along with the bucket list thread. I won't list them all but here are my tops ones: stay up all night in Vegas, party on a rooftop and cliff jump in Greece, hike Machu Piccu, stand on the Great Wall of China, graduate college, buy a house, move to a new city across the country on my own, run a half marathon, get my half sleeve tattoo.

I'm only 24 so I don't think I've accomplished much since I've had the time to be able to do so.

I guess some things that I feel are notable that I've accomplished are:

    1. Find my soul mate and Marry the heck out of him.

    2. Get the cutest puppy imaginable

    3. Graduate from college in 4 years and find a full time job immediately after graduation.

    4. Be completely self-sufficient

    5. Own my car.

    6. Graduate with my HOPE scholarship still in place

    7. Go on a cruise to the Caribbean

    ETA: GOT scuba certified!
  • @southernpeach89 But it's awesome that you found your husband so young so you can enjoy those things together! I'm only 29 and I did all of those items by 28. While my friends were all getting drunk in their mid-20's I saved my pennies and invested in traveling. But if does kind of stink that I didn't know FI at the time so he's only been one of those items with me.

THIS!! I love when people are able to find their husband/soul mate so young and are able to share so many things with them.  I wish I had found mind that young. Technically I did since we've been friends since we were 19, I just didn't know he would be my husband some day. I wish he had been there for all my major accomplishments thus far, and vice versa, but I'm only 26 so I still have plenty more accomplishments to share with him.

  • @loves2shop4shoes I am super jealous that you know 3 languages! Is that because of your family immigrating or just because you leared them on your own?

My father immigrated from Portugal when he was 27.  My mother was born in the US, but is 1st generation Portuguese American.  So, my first language was actually Portuguese.  I picked up Spanish as I got a bit older because the languages are so similar.  I only learned English when I was 4 and was starting school.

That is awesome. I was always envious of my Italian, Greek, and Polish friends for that reason. My family has been in New England for about 7 generations lol.

And I saw the bucket list thread about your job taking you to all those amazing places and working around daycare schedule....what the ever loving crap do you do for a job?!!? So insanely jealous lol.

I run in-house marketing for a company that specializes in luxury travel.  Our current focus is the South Pacific, but as of September, we are expanding to worldwide luxury destinations.  I do social media, advertising, website content and design, blogging, travel writing, manage vendor relationships, negotiate vendor pricing contracts, create infographics, create re-marketing ads...things like that.  It's a really fun job.
  • @jenna8984 FI and I have an octopus obsession so I looooooooove your octopus sleeve!

  • @severmilli12 Thanks! It was custom drawn for me, as my own interpretation of the Beatles Octopus' Garden. I named the octopus Lenny for John Lennon.

And the map isn't really shaped correctly (look at South America) on purpose because it's from an antique ship map when that's what they thought the continents looked like. It had a zillion longitude latitude gridlines on the original and I was like yea my arm is too small, let's skip those! lol

@Jenna8984 Yes I feel extremely fortunate to have met H when I did and get married at 24. It has been exciting to live with someone for the first time other than your college roommates and get to experience so much together in just the short 8 months that we have been married. I'm really looking forward to experiencing life together.

I know what you mean though about the rest of your friends. Most of my friends from high school are still partying it up but most of my college friends are married, engaged, and having babies. I think it's  Southern thing.
  • @jenna8984 - That's amazing! I love the colors, so vibrant. I'm afraid of color. I almost took the plunge for the one I'm getting tomorrow but I chickened out and decided to stick with black/grey.

Funny story about that song: when I was very little, my aunt and I would suck the pimento out of olives and then put them on our fingers and sing that song. I found out within the past 5 years or so that we didn't make the song up ourselves when I heard the Beatles singing it on the radio. I felt like my whole life was a lie.

  • @swazzle that is so hilarious that you didn't know it was Beatles. That's all my parents played when I was growing up and we attended impersonation concerts for fun.

I love the color and I get so many compliments on it from biker men to 80 year old ladies. But I almost wish I had gotten black & grey because those don't fade. The upkeep on color is ridiculous. I have to constantly slather it to death in SPF50/100 when I'm in the sun and if I'm going to be just laying on a beach tanning I cover it with a bandana. It's already faded a lot since that picture 3 years ago even with me taking the precautions. FI doesn't have to do any of that with his black work on his arms and they look the same as 10 years ago.

  • Man - not sure what I've done in life.

Maintained a career - I currently work for a rather cool company too

  • @Dignity100‌ I have never seen a great Pyrenees in person but I love them from pictures!! I think they look like the biggest sweeties in the world. But I've never owned a dog before so I don't think the size and fur would make that a good choice for a first timer which breaks my heart.

My H has 7 now. A half sleeve and then the rest are on his legs. Two of them are color and the rest are black/grey. He's exactly like you with the sunscreen. He lathers up before even walking outside and keeps a bottle with him a lot of the time.

I was emailing with our guy this morning and kept going back and forth on getting color but decided on the black. I don't think I'll regret it and if I decide later I want to add some yellow to it (I'm getting a sunflower) maybe it won't be a problem.

  • @Jenna8984 - I'm not going to lie, Pyrs are a difficult breed. They can be extremely stubborn. I would not recommend one for a first time dog owner. Before I got my first dog, I actually volunteered at a local animal shelter, I learned SO much there and would recommend to anybody that wants a dog that they volunteer.

  • @Jeanna8984 - I "second" what @Dignity100 said above and I think you are VERY smart to question if they are a good first time dog. A Pyr is not for the first time owner. I've raised Akitas, German Sheps, Labs and Dobermans (i.e., all large and mostly guard dogs). Each of those dogs has been bred to work WITH humans and to please them if properly trained and if loved/taken care of in return. A Pyr has specifically been bred to work WITHOUT humans (without any/very limited human direction) in the mountains so the best you can do is earn their respect in the hopes that they take your "commands" into consideration. I love our Pyr to death but he has been the most difficult dog I've ever had the pleasure of living with. That said, they are the cutest things ever.
