I get to pick up my dress tonight now that the alterations are complete! I am super excited to see how it looks without a foot of fabric puddled around my feet. My mom and sister/MOH are coming with to learn how to do the bustle.
Tomorrow is my bridal shower and I am looking forward to seeing my family and friends who are able to make it. Plus, my mom is making my absolute favorite cupcakes ever for the shower and I am going to eat a million of them. Chocolate fudge cake filled with caramel sauce and topped with her homemade chocolate butter cream icing. I am drooling just thinking about it.
Finally, tomorrow night is my bachelorette party! We are going to see the movie Lucy and then go have margaritas and mexican food (my favorite), followed up by hanging out at my matron of honor's house with board games, drinks and snacks. I am ridiculously excited for the girls night we are having. It sounds low key and perfect!
Anyone else have something exciting going on this weekend?
UPDATED TO ADD:
Hope everyone's plans went well!
Picking up my dress was a fiasco. When I was putting on my dress so they could show us how to bustle it and check the length, the attendant ripped the hook and eye at the top of the dress. She said it was ok, and they would fix it before I left. Then when they were showing my sister how the bustle works, my sister noticed that the buttons for the bustle were unevenly spaced. The buttons to the left of middle button were 2 inches apart, while the buttons to the right of the middle button were 3/4 inch apart. It was VERY noticeable that it was uneven once everything was done up. How they didn't notice that the buttons weren't even when they were doing it, I will never know. We ended up going to dinner and then coming back so they could fix everything. Of course, then the dress needed to be pressed again so we are going back the week of the wedding to have them press it again for free. Of course, that is a 2 hour round trip plus however long it takes them to press it. Fun times.
The shower and bachelorette party were awesome though. It was great seeing our families and family friends. We are most excited that we got the slow cooker we wanted (when mine died a couple weeks ago it was a frantic add to the registry) and the suitcases we picked out (we need them for our 2 week HM after the wedding). I loved having a chance that night to hang out with my girl friends and relax with margaritas. The peach margaritas I had were awesome!
One thing happened that I found funny. My aunt told me that my cousin couldn't be there because cousin's daughter just had her wisdom teeth out and cousin's mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer, so she just had too much going on right now and was needed at home. I sent my sympathies and said I totally understood. Then I saw on FB that cousin checked in at a raceway no where near home at exactly the time of the shower. She kept updating FB about the awesome races they were seeing. Too funny. Just say you already had plans or just don't show up if you don't want to come. I really don't care. No excuse is needed. But if you send along an excuse, at least try not to contradict your story until a bit later.
