Second wedding...How many people are you inviting?

My fiance and I have started planning and there are some things we can't plan without a guest list. I can only think of 6 friends who I feel I want to invite without question. Also, my grandma and my parents. My parents likely won't come anyway. My family, with the exception of my grandma, doesn't really speak to me since my divorce. Adam has a bigger, closer family, so his list will be a bit bigger...I still don't think we're looking at any more than 50 - 75 people. How many people are you planning to invite?

We invited 250, but both have very large families. There is no right or wrong answer to how many people to invite - well, as long as you don't invite more than your budget can handle and your venue can comfortably accommodate.

Invite who you want there to witness this joyous occasion and don't invite anyone you don't want there.

I didn't even have 250 people at my first wedding. I am not sure I know that many people. :-)

Denise, that is what we were looking at originally but Adam has a huge family. It will likely be closer to 75.

We are inviting around 180 people.

This is also my second wedding, his first. We are inviting 110, but I expect about half that because of distance. (But I can host everyone if they do all come.)

Second wedding for both of us. Our final guest list is 80. There are a lot of out-of-towners so we might only have 60 attend. (but we've budgeted for all 80 to say they're coming).

This is a second for both of us. We've decided to go small for the ceremony with just our parents and our kids and we'll have a bigger reception/party later with friends and extended family and that will be about 120

He'd prefer to elope. I've always wanted the "experience." Our compromise was small wedding. When we were originally planning we had it whittled down to around 50 people including us and vendors. I'm guessing less than 75 people total including vendors when by the time it actually happens.

75.. it's both of our second marriages but he did not have a wedding first time around. I had a huge one first time around. I promised to keep it intimate so i picked a location that only holds 75 :-)

We expect 50 or so to make the trip.

We're having a destination courthouse wedding, and are as yet undecided if we're telling anyone before we go. If we do, we'll invite our parents and a couple of very close family members -- totaling about 5 people total -- and probably none of them will come, which is just fine by us. We were both pressured into big weddings the first time, and we want no part of that this time.

We are looking at 175-200. It's his first, my second. My first wedding was very small. We both come from big families and co-workers we are close to. The funny thing is, neither of us have a lot of friends (aside from co-workers) we are inviting.
