Sorry about PNR work has been crazy but I wanted to share what happened this weekend!
Saturday morning, FI, MOH and I went to the baker for cake tasting and to pick out a design. The cake was DELICIOUS but the woman who owned the place was rude. The baker is in contract with the venue so I think that's why I felt so rushed. I cried after we left the bakery I was so upset. She made me feel like I was an idiot and that she was too busy to even deal with me. It was like "did you pick a flavor yet?" Um, no. "How many people are invited?" I tell her 64 and she goes "well surely, not everyone is going to RSVP so I'll estimate 50". That annoyed the piss out of me. We're having a small enough wedding that pretty much everyone is (hopefully) going to RSVP and we've been budgeting for 100% attendance so make your cake with 100% attendance in mind too. She kept going into the back to check on her intern and she kept saying "I'm very busy, I have seven weddings today". Okay, great, thanks.
I've worked in customer service my whole adult career. Dealing with people is tough. There are just some people who are talented at what they do but shouldn't deal with people. I think this woman is one of those people. Her work is amazing, her cakes were better than the popular bakery a few towns over and you could tell she loves what she does, she doesn't like dealing with people and their nuances. I mean, FFS she had us rushed out of there so fast we couldn't even ask about doing favors through her. Oh well, that's her problem.
I emailed our venue coordinator and let her know what happened and that they should keep it in mind when they re-negotiate their contract/vendor agreement. The venue coordinator emails me back and is shocked to hear what happened because she never got complaints about the baker before. So I'm 100% sure that it was an off day for her. The venue coordinator said she'll let the owner of the bakery know how I felt, so I feel like my cake is going to be all fucked up for the wedding. Great....
ANYWAY when we get back home, MOH suggested that I put on my dress with all of my accessories to cheer me up. And it did!!!! I've tried on the dress before but not with the accessories. The dress I ordered through Etsy that someone on here helped me pick out I was kind of on the fence about, but now with the dress I love it, here are some pictures. I'm frowning the picture because I was HOT. I couldn't imagine wearing a wedding dress in the middle of summer!
