I can't decide if I love this or hate it.

  • I think it looks cool (and delicious), but I agree for a wedding it might not look "right." If someone's wedding was super gorgeous like blog-post worthy, I think it could be pulled off, but if not, it will probably raise some eyebrows.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I think it looks delicious. It isn't like you are serving slurpees from 7-11 (although that would be AWESOME). I think it is great for your venue.

If you're going to do something like this, please allow me to recommend White Cherry Icees and Disaronno.
oooh, beethery- I like the way you think. At my wedding, the bottles of Baileys we put on our coffee station went in, like, 1 second. I think boozy slurpees would go like gangbusters.

    SITB

Or Rita's Water Ice and vodka.  We had the two at a family reunion, put them together and they were delicious!
  • @jenna8984 Boo Bruins yay Habs! Lol joke @ClimbingBrideNY That cake looks delicious and looks rustic. Maybe it goes all in all with your theme and decorations? My opinion would be that it would look better at a shower or garden brunch. Unless like I said, your wedding is outside and rustic etc etc.

  • @ClimbingBrideNY just wanted to chime in and say that I know (and LOVE) your venue, having spent lots of time there growing up. I think the naked cake goes perfectly with that venue!

I love it, but wouldn't have the guts to do it for my wedding!

  • I LOVE naked cakes. I'm not a huge fan of frosting and I despise fondant. Naked cakes look like they have the perfect amount. Personally, I wouldn't care if people think the cake looks out of place but at a nice venue in the mountains I think it would be perfect.

  • I agree, they look the most appetizing to me. I don't love frosting!
  • The first time I saw it (online, never in person), I thought it looked messy but delicious. They've grown on me, though. Now I think they look kinda pretty and delicious.
  • Also, another vote that the cake would fit right in at your venue and the venue is absolutely gorgeous! Plus, I'd never side-eye a cake choice at a wedding. I think a cake should reflect the couples' preference and personalities. I don't see any need for it to match the formality of the event - not like the invitations or wedding party attire.
