Wedding Woes

One more day between us and the weekend.

Inspection day on the new house.  I have to wait all day because it's not until this afternoon.   I'm sort of nervous, but mostly feel at peace with whatever happens.  I haven't stopped looking at what has been coming on the market and have back-up houses in case this goes south.

The kiddo ended up getting a supply list yesterday.  YAY.  Good to know.  I still probably won't finish until after he starts school next week.

DH has to leave town again for work next weekend. We were supposed to go to a reception in Chicago for my cousin.  I think I may go with my parents now.  The only expense I'll have is a little food and a hotel.  I bet I come out ahead.  ;)

::off to see what Prudie has to offer today::

Re: One more day between us and the weekend.

  • A miracle happened yesterday:  I found a Frozen backpack in a store.  I had to ask if they had any in the back because the spot on the shelf was empty, but I got one, dang it.  (Yes, I know ordering online is a thing).

I got all the school supplies for both kids.  The plan for today is to take Son to get some new shirts.  He's good on shorts and I'm not even going to attempt buying jeans until the day he needs them.  This kid is standing a hair under 5'10 now.  Fuuuuudge.

Oh, and my new goal is to stop cussing so much.  I never used to but lately the words have just been falling out of my mouth left and right.  DD1 has noticed and repeated - not good.

DH is taking tomorrow afternoon off to swim. I'm cleaning like a mad woman for visitors.

This was supposed to be a lazy last weekend that has turned into a cluster.  DH's aunt from TN is in town and wants to stop by.  BIL is in town and wants to stop by at a different time  We're supposed to go to a cookout Saturday night which will be fun.  Sunday is my family reunion.

Monday is dentist for 6let, swimming with my family, back to town for school open house.

  • I'm ready for this weekend.  I have dinner with my parents tonight, and a meeting with the treasurer tomorrow to get the last of the group stuffs out of my house.  I've had to fix a few other things, but hopefully by this weekend, I'm officially finally finished.  And the group is now imploding from what I hear, with 2 splinter groups having started and the woman who harassed me so much in the beginning making some sort of crazy play for the presidency.  IDK and Not My Problem.  Now everyone realizes how much I really was dealing with in terms of background drama.

I think we're going to try and camp on Friday night.  Then have dinner with a great group of friends Saturday night.  I'm also putting my house back together a bit more.
  • V - now you can say, "Not my circus, Not my monkeys" and walk away!

  • I'm really just appalled that these are grown-ass people behaving this way, about a small social organization in a city of 250K people.  I mean, really?  It's kind of funny in a way, and extremely sad in another way.  People are just weird when it comes to "power".  But yes, I have enjoyed the "I'm so sorry, there's nothing I can do" and no longer "herding cats".  :)
  • People are strange, and irrational and it seems that people in general (THOSE PEOPLE) seem bent/determined to prove just that.

Last night H and I went to see a movie (LUCY), it was pretty good, so that means tonight I get to do the grocery shopping and pre-planning for the weekend.H has been pretty vocal about not wanting to go tubing, but it's sitting in a tube and just hanging out.  DEAL WITH IT.  It's not like I'm asking him to scale a mountain, though he'd probably love that.

I am pretty deep in paperwork at work, but I can't seem to get a good head of steam up...just circles.  H is working on house stuffs--he's got all the current house paperwork in order to give to the realtor.  He's called to have a house stager/improvement coordinator come so we can be ready when we need to.  GMIL is still declining but it's a day to day thing---so trying to figure anything out is still in limbo.
  • I have awesome gossip that I posted on the FB group.

I have to take my car for yearly inspection at lunch today. hopefully I'm not at the dealership for too long. After work, I'll go to Zumba and "Core Express" classes. Tomorrow is my Friday off, and I have a 90 minute massage scheduled. It will be a fun day.

We're leaving for PA next Thursday, so I'm sure we'll be busy getting ready this weekend.
  • This board is slow enough, all good gossip should be posted here! lol
  • Morning. Our daycare provider has been out sick for the last 2 weeks and today was the kids first day back. DS was ridiculously excited, but DD had some separation anxiety. She's a mama's girl right now. Today is work, and I'd like to go to the wine store tonight and restock my wine fridge. I am ready for this week to be over- too much dealing with stupid people at my job.

Morning. Buffy is graduating to the 4 yo room in Sept, which is good--the Mr. and I are debating if she should go up one more room before next fall, as more kindergarten readiness, but we don't have to decide that right *now*--and that's part of the larger 'kindergarten next fall, or red-shirt one more year?' discussion we'll be having. (watchful waiting, at this point. I'm inclined to think she'll be ready, but a lot developmentally can happen in the next year.) My sister and I are plotting about family reunion. This is family that I *like* and want to see...but I don't exactly love giving up an entire Sunday for them. So we're going, but she is tasked w/ finding us a good excuse to leave early. Like before they start reading the minutes of last year's family reunion. (<yes, this really happens. Oh, and this year, they're skipping the fundraising stuff and just saying to donate to the reunion fund--which is good. I believe we're buying another something for the local park w/ the fund currently.) (speaking of cursing, someone I know and love gave up 'not cursing' for Lent last year. She was spending to much energy worrying about the words, not the attitude. She swears more now, but the random 'urgleburgle' that was technically rated G but carried more anger is more rare. it's interesting)
