Daff, I actually just stumbled upon Essure today in my looking. My worry is that a doctor won't do it because we are both too young and don't have any kids.  Even though we have both come to decision that if we ever change our minds about kids we want to adopt because there is no way in hell I am going through pregnancy.  Nothing against anyone that does, it just isn't for me. I have a nephew, he is all the baby I need.

  • Make sure you do, Edie! Ask at all of your doctors...I found out that tons of doctors have lots of samples that they either a) forget they have or b) don't realize you want. I've been on Cymbalta for over 2 years now and my doctor in MS would let me just call in and see if they had any samples.

This mostly only works for medicines like that, however. They're not going to have samples of pennicillin or anything, KWIM?

[QUOTE]LDY is Cymbalta different then Seasonale?

Haha yes, Seasonale is a three month BC pill. Cymbalta is for my depression :)

I love the conversations here.  This has been bugging me all day so it is really nice to talk to someone (well people) about it.

LDY, that's great about the free birth control.  Free stuff is always nice.

  • If you decide you want Essure, you just have to go in to the doctor's office armed with counter-arguments. I can help you with that. And if one refuses, look for another. Don't let doctors bully you into what to do with your own body.
  • They have chewable BC pills?

Now I can't help but picture a package of color-coded Flintstone vitamins.

Daff, you are one of my favorite people right now. If it comes to that, I will probably end up taking you up on the counter-arguments help.

Wrigley - I was thinking the same thing.  I thought all BC had to be swallowed whole, like normal pills which is why I can't take them.  (SN: I'm a wimp and can't get over the psychological aspect of swallowing a pill.  Cheerio, I'm fine.  Pill, it refuses to go down.)

  • Wellbutrin gave me migraines - I had never had one before and then BAM - worst 2 weeks of my LIFE.

And yeah - chewable BC! It didn't make much sense to me that they were chewable because they're the size of a normal bc pill and in the same type of pack and everything, so I just swallowed them, but I guess people could chew them on the go or if they don't like taking pills?
  • Edie - a couple of my friends had great success with the book/method Loopy posted. They didn't have any surprises. They said it becomes as natural as brushing your teeth first thing in the morning. If you're super into Excel charts and stuff, you'd like it. :)

Sounds good, definitely give me a holler!

OK, I'm off to exercise and stuff. Be back later.
  • Now I want flavored, chewable birth control pills. They could be chocolate-flavored during PMS week.

I've taken Cymbalta for almost 6 years for the nerve pain in my leg & hip but it was developed to be an antidepressant.
  • Rsanna, Daff is AWESOME at that stuff. Definitely take her advice.

I went to the pool today and my spray sunscreen missed a whole section of my upper thigh/hip. It is now super painful. YAY. I'm eating ice cream (with sprinkles) to make me feel better.

yep! It's been really good for a friend's mom's Fibromyalgia too.
  • I hardly ever add sprinkles when I eat ice cream. LDY, you've inspired me. I'm going to get myself a bowl with sprinkles and chocolate syrup :)

<div>The sprinkles are what makes it great. </div>
  • Sprinkles are an essential part of a bowl of ice cream. MMMhmm. If I had some magic shell I'd be in heaven.

LDY, sprinkles are kind of the best thing ever.  Especially rainbow sprinkles.  Which reminds me, I have rainbow sprinkles at home.  I should make something to put them on.

  • Yes. Yes you should. I wish I had some cake to bake. I'd make it funfetti and it would be spectacular.
  • I like those little round sprinkles. They're so fun.
  • I've got the chewable ones too. I tried chewing them, but inevitably some would get stuck on my back teeth, and I got paranoid. They taste like mint.
  • I must be an ice cream purist.  No sprinkles, no sauces, no fruit topping...  The exception is of course alcohol.  A scoop of chocolate ice cream or gelato with a shot of Bailey's over top - heaven.

  • Damn phone. I'm so behind.

Any batter from baking is delicious as a snack.  I think I enjoy that more than the baked goods themselves.

<div>This just moved to the top of my to-do list. But with vanilla. </div>
  • I don't think I even own sprinkles.
  • Hey all. I was able to do a smart utility test on my computer and it told me in no uncertain terms that my harddrive was failing NOW. So that's awesome. It means I have to drag my dogs and myself to my parents for the weekend so I can use a stupid computer.

Musu, that really sucks.  I'm sorry.  I didn't read the end of the night thread last night, but were you able to get your paper off of it at least?
