God bless our photographer who got us all 585 pictures from our wedding day in just under 3 weeks. It's a love/hate relationship with her - love her & her amazing work // hate that said amazing work has rendered me worthless for the past 2 days cuz all I can do is daydream about that weekend. Sigh. At least it's Friday!
Anyway, if you feel like looking at too many pictures from a strangers wedding, here you go.
The "cabin" we rented (I call it a house, but because there is a "main house" that flippin' AHmazing on property, the owners call it a "cabin". Call it what you want, I didn't want to leave.
I mean, seriously. Thee.Best.Lawn.EVER!
Token artsy fartsy dress shot
I really did (do!) love the dress. What it lacks in poof, it makes up for in detail. I mean, each of those damn beads were hand sewn. Gives me arthritis just thinking about it!
H's Dad's pocket watch (my 'something old')
Which was given to him by H's mom on their wedding day
Wore it around my bouquet
And the token artsy fartsy jewelry shot
The ceremony space. My Ma is going to have a quilt made for us with the fabric we used on the hay bales (...yes, those are hay bales. No, we weren't in Pinterest land, we were in Montana, where H grew up and hay runs rampant. It only seemed fitting.).
Don't be too jealous of my stellar wood burning skills
The "loved ones" picture line. Some pretty important people couldn't be there with us and we are photo freaks so this was our way to represent them while also adding a bit of fun decor.
H's Dad playing horse. Yes, he even has a feed bag
I'll spare y'all most of the getting ready pics b/c ain't nobody want to see me have dressed, but I love this shot of my Sis.
And my Ma (after she put her necklace - my 'something borrowed' on me.
And token reflection shot
I'll also spare y'all the first look shots and go straight to the pretty lil' poses.
So I'm kind of obsessed with "bench shots" and warned our photog when we hired her that we would require at least one. But what do you do when there's no bench to stand on? You use the dock, that's what!
More posey...
Everyone kept asking me (all.freakin.day) if I was nervous. And I wasn't. What I was was EXCITED. So very excited!
H was the nervous one
And in looking at all the pics, it became very apparent that when I'm excited, I tend to lean forward.
A lot.
H had the wrong button on his suit jacket buttoned during most of the ceremony and was so pissed when he figured it out. He's "mortified" (his words, not mine) that he looks ridiculous (he doesn't) in all the pictures (the ceremony was only about 10 minutes so no, not ALL the pictures). I assured him no one would even notice. Back me up on this - y'all wouldn't have notice, right??
Oh, just some more excited leaning...
Pretty sure oozing with happiness doesn't even come close to describing how I felt in that moment!
My sister loves this shot. I think it looks like I'm cuddling up with his Billy Bob.
Aaaaaand the token group shot.
Obligatory "do I have anything in my teeth" moment (aka. that's what sisters are for)
So this is likely a super boring shot for y'all, but It's one of my faves b/c of the sheer joy on my Ma's face. See, my Sis was previously married (but not really, do to a "mix-up" with the marriage licence...but I'll save that story for another day). As such, Ma Bear was over the moon happy to watch us sign ours. Sometimes it's the little (big!) things
Kids are cute. And wise.
My twin (yes, twin) nephews. Who make seersucker look good!
Love my Pops. And his socks.
Yes, we had lawn games (commence the eye-rolling). But damn it, if you've got a lawn like that, you've GOTTA have lawn games!
I like this one because you can see the Montana flag.
So we quit smoking on New Years Day and told ourselves that on our wedding day we could have a cigarette. And the photog caught us. Sneaky she is!
We saw the photog pulled over on this road when we were driving to the reception (before we met Officer Bob) and wondered what she was doing. Now we know. And little did SHE know, but that was the road H grew up on. If you squint and look to the left of the white house in the background you can see his childhood home. Thanks for making the obligatory Montana shot all the more special!
When we visited MT last summer, we stopped for dinner at the cutest little restaurant on the East shore of the lake. I said to H then that when we married (this was before we were engaged), that I wanted our reception to be there. He agreed. And so it came to be.
What I didn't know is that the owner loves bunnies. They were everywhere! Yes, even baby bunnies!
AND they had a bench. Woot!
And also a cherry tree (or 20). Flathead cherries are quite delish. If you ever find yourself upon them, get a bag! Promise you won't regret it!
The cake (vanilla bean chiffon with marscapone filling and buttercream frosting).
Just because it's funny
Another shot that likely a yawner for you guys, but let me tell you why it's special. 1 - My BFF and her hubby (who are new parents. 7 month old twins) were surprise guests at the wedding. Her & my Ma planned it so they could come for the weekend and I will always be grateful for that treat. 2 - my H & her H are both smiling. Like real smiles. In the same picture. That'll never happen again. Ever.
And last, but not least, a good bye hug with my Pops. Yep, I'm a Daddy's girl, through & through
...and they lived happily ever after. The End
