Should I invite someone I haven't spoke to in 3 years?

My piano teacher was my teacher for 9 years of my life but the last time I seen her or talked to her was 3 years ago at my high school graduation. I feel like it would be weird to invite her to my wedding when last time she saw me was at my graduation and feel like I'm asking her for more gifts or money or something? Also that we have not seen each other. Idk but I also feel like I should invite her as she taught me for 9 years. Should I invite her or not or am I just over thinking this?

Re: Should I invite someone I haven't spoke to in 3 years?

  • If you'd like having her there and think she might want to come, I don't see any harm in inviting her.

Have you kept in touch at all?  I invited some people who I hadn't seen in longer than 3 years, but had kept in at least semi-regular contact with.  I also invited my piano/singing teacher, who I'd kept up with by email, and while she ended up not being able to make it, she was very happy and excited for us.

I think that since she was your teacher for such a long time, I wouldn't think she'd think an invite was just a gift grab.

    What does your mom think?
  • I hadn't seen most of family in over 3 years because of where we all live. Same with some of my friends. Some came, some didn't.
