Radiation burn pain. Help!

It's Sunday night, and I am in terrible pain near the corner of my eye where I had radiation.  Some of your medical professionals out there - what can I do?  Help!

    It's been a minute since I've taken care of a radiation burn, but we had a really good friend who used coconut oil as a way to moisturize hers when she was getting treatment. As far as the pain, if you can get your hands on some sunburn lidocaine spray that may help or NSAIDs like ibuprofen? Also try a cool pack like the eye gels that you put in the fridge? I hope you start to feel better! I've always thought radiation burns are just a really cruel side effect. Good vibes for you!

    Ack!  I just looked in the mirror.  The red, burned skin has turned putrid grey and sluffed off, and my eyelashes are gone.   Eeeeek!

    Dammit, my doctor said it wouldn't be as bad this time!

    I have no medical experience to help you with, but I wanted to stop by this thread to say how much I admire your strength.  I'm so sorry you're having such pain.  Hopefully you'll find something to help with the radiation burn soon!

    Thank you, ladies.  I'm seeing the doctor Tuesday.  Ice cream!  I found some hydrocodone so I could sleep.  It looks horrible.  I'm back to wearing sunglasses when I go out so I don't frighten children.
