We got married last Saturday, and just got back from our honeymoon. I was stressing out so much about the weather, so upset that it was going to rain, and all day on Friday FI was complaining about the rain. At that point I had just accepted that it was going to rain and he was driving me crazy whining about it!
The rain held off long enough for me to enter the church - they have these big old doors that opened for my entrance. We had a Catholic ceremony, but didn't do a full mass so it ended up being super short - we were out of the church shortly after 6. Because the ceremony was so short, we ended up with nearly a 90 minute cocktail hour - it was supposed to be 7-8 but they started when guests started arriving I think around 6:30. That's my only regret, I worried it ended up being too long, but at least we didn't have a gap, and no one seemed to mind (not that they would tell me if they did). By that point it was raining, so we had to do almost all of our pictures under an overhang at the reception - but at least we were outside. We were at this gorgeous golf club, so I'm bummed we couldn't go anwhere, but it worked out. I thought we did a good job of starting table visits during the salad course, but we had barely made it through half the tables before the coordinator motioned that it was time to cut the cake. I can't believe how fast everything went by! I spent a lot of the rest of the night trying to make sure I got to say hi to everyone we didn't get to visit. I guess we chatted too long at each table. We probably could have just done a receiving line after the ceremony, oh well.
Anyway, even with the rain, it was a perfect, wonderful, magical day! Everyone seemed to have a great time and I never stopped smiling all night. My husband and I said when we were on our honeymoon that looking back, we didn't even care that it rained. It didn't matter at all.
Anyways, here's some pictures! We've only gotten a few previews back from the photographer.
