it's Friday...

....aaaand I'm in grumpy gus mode. Didn't get to sleep till after 11 only to be woken by the sound of DH turning the water in the bathtub on and off repeatedly at 3:15. Go in, asked what the hell he was doing at this hour. Today's house cleaning day- he wanted to get a head start on dealing with the clog issue in the drain.

Completely forgot that this level of noise will wake me and I had to be up in 2 hours to start getting ready for work.

He did let me know he'd discovered a bit of a bug problem in the pantry, so not to be surprised when I went in the kitchen this morning as he had emptied the pantry in order to reseal the part that connects to our neighbors. good thing he said something, it looks like a bomb went off in my kitchen and dining room now.

Must has caffeines....must survive Friday. ....must not faceplant into keyboard. ...

Re: it's Friday...

  • I went to bed in my crankypants too... only to be woken up by FI when he got home from the casino at God knows what hour, took a shower and turned on the giant box fan in our room. My bad I suppose for not turning the fan on before I went to sleep, but I actually prefer not to have the white noise.

I have my rescheduled dress fitting later, after halfheartedly pretending to "work from home" this morning. It's the first time I'll see it with the veil I made and it's gonna look fucking stupid because I got these two stupid triangles of sun burn yesterday where my shoulders meet my neck, sliced by the nonburned stripe where my ponytail cast a shadow. I've been trying SO HARD to avoid a sunburn ALL SUMMER because it doesn't just "tan out," it peels and still leaves tanlines that last FOREVER. And now I have 2 weeks and a day til my wedding and I'm gonna look like a leper.

Aww, you will be beautiful!  I saw that bach picture, and there is no way you could look like a leper!!  It will be great and perfect and so will you!

  • Lolo, the only white noise I can stand is the sound of the fan overhead. Though kitties purring and snuggling with me last night did not cause me any problems.

I deserve a cookie. Despite crankypants on, I managed to have a friendly expression on when big boss dumped stuff on me this morning that other colleagues couldn't get done by deadline. I swear, I am the only person pulling their share of said stuff, and boss should give me a camelbak of Margaritas.

I also sent nice text to dh asking him to let me do the laundry this evening as I have to spot treat some items with delicate fabrics before they can be washed properly in the delicate bag. Yep, ive earned a cookie damnit
  • Oh...I'd be torn...happy that someone else was cleaning the interior of my home pissed that they were doing it at 3:15am - not sure which emotion would win out.

  • Good morning!  I woke up this morning to an angry teenage girl (C, my cousin). I'm kid-sitting my cousins, and apparently "I need to be at practice at 8:00" really means, "Coach wants us there at 7:45 but I didn't tell you that for some reason." So when I got her there at 7:50 and she still had to fill the team ice bucket before going down to the turf, it was a BFD.

She's 14. She'll get over it. (Or OMG guys, should I kick her out of the bridal party? She's not being supportive!!!)

I'm doing some more shuttling around of the cousins this morning, then J goes to work and C and I both go to the train station around noon. She's going to visit a friend and I'm going home.

Then Fi and I are going to eat a big meal (either tacos or pasta) because I'm supposed to have one high-carb day per week and today is it. This weekend we're camping with Fi's siblings and some of his cousins. It could be really fun or it could be a shit show, since most of these people don't normally camp. We'll see.

  • @Chipmunk415, at least FI is on the bug problem! If it happened to me, I'd probably have to be the one to clear out the pantry and beg FI to fix it before Christmas.

@lolo883, have you tried using bronzer to even it out?

My morning blew because I dropped a hairbrush on my toe. That doesn't sound so bad, except it was my ginormous paddle brush and it fell out of my hand while I was brushing my hair, so it hit with a lot of force. I seriously thought I broke my toe. Now I'm pissy because it still hurts and might interfere with my plans to go for a good run after work.

On the bright side, it is a holiday weekend and I don't have to work until TUESDAY!

  • @ElcaB‌ bronzer doesn't normally do a heck of a lot of good, but I'll be trying everything as the day gets closer!

@lolo883 You may want to try (and I can't believe I'm really suggesting this) a spray tan with an actual human being who can airbrush you. I've heard of other people getting good results from a professional who tries to even it out.

  • ElcaB- I do appreciate DH dealing with this stuff. Im just crabby due to lack of sleep. Right now, the blue sky outside is too damn blue and happy.
  • Morning everyone!

@ElcaB I hear you on the foot pain. Yesterday morning I whacked my foot so hard again the leg of my vanity table that it instantly bruised. I had to stifle my shriek when it happened so I didn't wake up FI.

Today should be a good day. Got to wear jeans to work today, the office closes an hour early since it's a holiday weekend AND it's my bridal shower tonight. I've been stalking my registry and I'm SO excited that some of the things I really wanted were purchased. Which reminds me that I need to go out on lunch today and pick up thank you cards so that I can get those done over the weekend.

This weekend we've got a lot going on but it's all good things - taking my dad suit shopping, dinner and a bonfire with FIL's, pig roast on Sunday plus babysitting my BFF's adorable children, and then wine tasting with FI on Monday.

  • Aren't Fridays supposed to be happy? I'm also on a crappy mood, went to bed at 11 and woke up to FI freaking out around 3 that the dog was sprayed by a skunk. Sure enough I could smell skunk, but after a 20 minute search for the dog found him asleep under the covers skunk free.

And now I'm up again at 6 to make Nutella pancakes for FSS for his bday. I need more coffee.

I've had that done before and I looked orange like an Oompa Loompa.  :(  This would require airbrushing with surgical precision. It would be pretty funny if I wasn't getting married in a strapless dress in 15 days. (Sorry for the almost boob shot.)

  • I think it is TK crankypants day. FI and I went to a friend's last night so our friend could weld something on the truck. FI promised me supper at our favorite wing place but him and K talked too long and by the time we left, it was closed. I had to settle for Taco Bell.

Then one of our dogs kept whining last night at 2 in the morning. I let her out and she doesn't even leave the porch. Turns out she wanted to get on the bed, which she isn't allowed to do.

I'm just tired and irritable this morning. I went to Starbucks to treat myself and waited 30 minutes...

  • @Chipmunk415 Good news!!! It's Friday, meaning you probably don't have to work tomorrow and you can sleep it off. As you all well know by now, I start work tonight at 7pm until 3am and that's until Monday. You can't be grumpier than me :p Good thing your FI is taking care of that bug problem. So good to have a man in the house!

  • Raissyrais im sorry you have that shift- dh used to do 11pm to 7am so I understand your pain.

Good news- office is letting us out at 2. Bad news- work dumped on me must still be done by deadline. At least I can do some if it over the weekend. I think my free time this afternoon will be spent on chores and errands before I handle the work dump with a bottle of wine.

Tomorrow- College Football!!!! May do some crafting too.

Sunday/monday- dh and I are starting a juice cleanse.
  • I'm in a relatively good mood even though last night was a shit storm. Me and FI got into it big over money, but eventually got things settled and he was really sweet this morning before he left for work. I'm working today, then I have a Pure Romance party tonight (my side job that doesn't bring in ANY side money), but my in-laws are also coming into town tonight, and they don't know about me moonlighting as a seller of sex toys, so when I get home I'm going to be sneaking my things into my own house so that FMIL doesn't spot my giant bag of dildos and bullets. Which is pretty funny, I admit, but I still don't want to be caught. FI promises to help run interference for this.

  • Tired and cranky. We finally finished the floors in our spare bedroom late last night, though we still need to re-clean the walls, patch them, and paint everything. Hopefully before Friday when my bff comes into town for the bachelorette party. It's looking unlikely....

I hurt everywhere as does FI. I came into the office only to discover that everyone else is working from home today. I didn't get to eat my lunch the other day and came in to find that someone left the fridge door open overnight so I now need to buy.

Finally, in our shared office space, people frequently bring their dogs. I have a dog and I still don't love the practice but can deal. Today one of the women brought in her dog- a Pomeranian, I think? - and it will not stop yelping.

I get to go shoot my guns tomorrow, so that will be fun. And seeing our new venue today. Then hang on the lake Sunday and have a lazy day Monday. Fun times!

  • lolo, have you used aloe before? I have successfully prevented peeling by using aloe on sunburns very frequently. This happened most recently in June, when I had my friends wedding in 2 weeks. H & I were on vacation and even though we applied sunscreen frequently at the waterpark, I still got burnt. My sunburn didn't peel and it returned to a normal shade by the wedding. I would put it on every hour if you can!

@lolo883, I read aloe, cucumber, and vinegar all aid in taking away the redness. Try those on the skin and tequila in the mouth.

Then pop some aspirin, which will help with the sunburn and the hangover. Two birds, one stone.

Good morning everyone! Sorry it is cranky day today. =( I am a little cranky myself, but I am trying to stay positive because it is Friday and a 3 day weekend for me! Yay!

This is the first weekend that I have had in FOREVER that will include a grand total of zero wedding planning! I am so ready.

Tonight is girls' night, so I am going to go se "As Above So Below" with my girlfriends. I can't wait to have some no-boys-allowed time.

Tomorrow if family day/pre-Labor day bbq because some of my family has to work on Monday, so that is going to be awesome. I forsee copious amounts of beer in my future.

Sunday FI and I are going to lounge around in the morning and then I am going to go over to my grandparents for the afternoon. My grandma makes the BEST pie in the entire world and she has finally agreed to teach me and I couldn't be happier about it. I really can't wait to have some time with her.

Monday is shopping day with my mom since FI will be sleeping (he works the night shift).

Now I just need to make it until 4:30. I keep doing something like this and then my coworker walks in and I am like...

  • I've been cranky pants all week, so I'd really like today to be better.

Work today, then I'm heading up to NYC for a bachelorette party. And I do work Monday cause Labor Day = Bank in mattresses.

FI and I broke our bed last night. It was pretty comical actually.

Then I stuck my finger in his eye. On accident!!

But I felt his eyeball. Eww.
I think we need story time about the bed.

Leave the eyeball touching out though. Creeps me the fuck out.

@OliveOilsMom yeah I load it on pretty dutifully. My skin just hates me, apparently. Dang Swedish genes. I burn really quickly and tanlines stay for YEARS. No joke. I have faint tan lines on my back from at least 3 different bathing suits.

  • I am not really a happy camper either today.

I got pulled over for a tail light out on my way to work (thankfully no ticket)

I have nothing to do at work today.

I have coworkers wanting me to open the blinds in my work space and I dont want to and I sorely want to tell them to pound sand, but I can't.

  • H and I broke a bed once. It was really funny.

I am leaving work early today, wahoo! Going to meet H for lunch at his office- they have an awesome cafeteria, so I like chances to go visit him.

I have stuff to return to both LOFT and Old Navy, and I also want to swing by Target. The Target is a bit of a haul for me, so I like to make a special trip every now and then.

I leave bright and early tomorrow for a bachlorette party in West Palm Beach. Super pumped about that. Then, on Monday, I get a special bonus visit with my parents and my niece who will also be in West Palm Beach on vacation that is unrelated to the b-party.

  • Woohoo it's Friday.

I'm working on the golf course this weekend.  Then one members contacted the GM to see if I would work a party for her Sunday night.   I'm flattered, but kind-of surprised they specifically asked for me.  I pretty much have only  work the beverage cart at the club.     It's all good.  DH is working late on Sunday anyway.
