Back from Mexico - What did I miss?

Hey ladies! We got back from Mexico Saturday and it was soooooo hard being back at work yesterday. So busy catching up on things at the office I hardly had time to check in here. I saw @Severmilli12's dress post with all the accessories - beautiful! What else have I missed?

We had a wonderful time on the beach! A whole week of sun, drinks, good food, snorkeling and relaxation. Our resort was good, but we definitely preferred the Dreams in Puerto Aventuras that we've stayed at before (You're going to have an awesome wedding there @BreMR!!!). The weather was good and we did really enjoy 2 of the 5 restaurants. I'm horrible because I didn't take any pictures (I know I know), but I do have some pretty awesome news. While we were in Mexico we found out we're pregnant! It's super early (not quite 6 weeks) and we're not telling anyone IRL until after the first trimester...but we're excited! I really needed to tell SOMEONE. I'm lucky to have you ladies to share with!

@allusive007 so like...how does one find out you were preggo in Mexico? Did you have to read the instructions on the pee stick in Spanish?! Plusalso, I hope you weren't feeling poorly (but it doesn't sound like you were) SOOOOOO CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know nothing about babies, so you probably should not ask me for any advice until the kiddo is in high school

In my life, I bought a house (you knew that probably), ridded the house of fleas (SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT), and now...I just got a job teaching HS math! <--that's the biggest news.

@allusive007 -That sounds like a wonderful vacation and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting to find out your pregnant at such an awesome time with your hubby on vacation!! I love babies!!! Have y'all been TTC or am I just imagining things?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Ahh how exciting, Allusive! I second Blue's question, how did you find out? I'm glad you had a great vacation!

Not much new here. H and I looked at a house and we love it. It took a little bit of discussing for me to get back to loving-it point but depending on the answers to the questions we've asked the listing agent/seller, I think we're going to put in an offer. The house is older (104 years) so we want to cover our bases.

@Blue & White - CONGRATS on the new teaching job! (and the house and ridding of fleas) That's so exciting. I hope you celebrated?

I don't feel any different right now. I haven't felt sick or anything...so hopefully that will last for a while. I had taken a test with me just in case...so I did not have to read instructions in Spanish thankfully! Although that could have been a story in and of itself!

@miniskat30 - It was fun to find out on vacation. We had time to ourselves to let it all sink in and just be happy about it. It's hard keeping the secret though....I don't know how I'm going to do it for 7 more weeks!

@Swazzle - which house is this again?

not much new here really... my PMP class officially started this week, so I'm in pretty deep with that. I also started my new job last week + my GYN took me off all hormonal BCP for a couple weeks, so it was pretty rough. I can start taking my BCP again on Sunday, and I can't wait. my skin is nuts, I had the worst period since junior high, and I've been a little "on edge" and sensitive. can't wait to feel normal again.

@Southernpeach89 -. We were trying. I went off BC in April and figured it would take about 3 months for my body/cycle to get back to "normal". I was almost two weeks last month and thought I might be - but turned out I was just late. This month was a hit!

@Swazzle - How exciting to be house shopping! 104 years old? Although I'm sure that does raise a lot of questions about the condition of things - that's awesome. I bet that house has a ton of character. I love older homes. You just can't find new builds that compare. I hope everything goes smoothly and that you get all the RIGHT answers to your questions!

Nothing new here. We mailed our invitations a couple weeks ago and RSVPs have been steadily finding their way in to my parent's mailbox. The wedding is 45 days away and I'm kind of freaked out by how close everything is. I can't wait for the day AFTER the wedding and for married life to really start to be honest!

@allusive007 - Thank you! Yea we both love older homes and this one has everything we need AND everything we want. It needs a little work but it's pretty great

@CocoBellaF - How is the new job? Are you happier there? (Hopefully!) I completely understand about the BC thing. I was a total mess for the first month or so after going off BC. I really hadn't talked with my doctor before I stopped taking the pills, so I didn't expect it. I felt like my emotions were all over the place and my body was totally out of wack. Hopefully things get back to normal soon for you! **hugs**

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is SO exciting. I can imagine finding out by yourselves while on vacation is SO special!! I love that you two just got to celebrate alone and let it sink it. I'm so happy for you!!

Nothing too new here - FI & I are also looking at houses. We found one that we really like, and talked to our realtor last night to get better info, since it's a For Sale by Owner property. My FMIL doesn't think we should buy it because of location, which is annoying to me since I've lived here for ten years and she's only been here a handful of times, but we're moving past that.

Continuing to move forward with wedding planning - I get to pick up MY DRESS tomorrow!!!! EEEEE!!! We're getting engagement pics taken on the 21st, so I'm trying to figure out what outfits I want to wear - I have one dress, and have to go shopping for the other outfit

I'm still so super excited for you!!!

Nothing much is going on here, kitchen renovations are almost done! I'm hoping this is my last month on BC too, to begin trying next month.

@LaPeanut1018 - EEK - only 45 days? Gosh that snuck up fast! I can't wait to see ALL THE PHOTOS! Enjoy every moment from here on out - it really is the fun part. I know there's a lot of stress too, but it really is the best time of the whole shebang!

@Swazzle - by referring to it as the "blue one" - does that mean there are pics somewhere? I'd love to see it!

@GoldenPenguin - With all the house shopping going on - i'm getting a bit jealous! I'm going to have to live vicariously through you and @Swazzle for the time being! Enjoy your engagement photo session. H and I had a TON of fun at ours. The goofier we were, the better the photos turned out...so have a ball!

@Peaseblossom55 - You two have been working HARD on that house of yours! I know it's a lot of work, but you're going to be so happy when you're all done! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys on TTC. It's an exciting time!

@CocoBellaF - Yes, we're waiting until after the first trimester. We haven't even told family yet...just you ladies! H just really wants to be careful, so we're going to see how long we can keep our lips sealed. I'm hoping we can at least tell my mom next week while she's in town because it may be our only chance to tell her in person this year - So H and I are in negotiations about that right now. We may wait until Christmas to tell H's family because we'll all be renting a cabin in the mountains together and it would be a fun time to share the news...but I guess we'll have to see if it's obvious before then or not...
