Wedding Invitations & Paper

Vistaprint Invitations

Anyone ever seen an invite from vistaprint in person? I had already chose mygatsby.com for our wedding invites but stumbled upon vistaprint. Their prices are hard to beat and they actually have a design I like. I'm more interested in knowing about the paper quality.

They are sending me a sample kit but would like to get heads up to see if I should even be considering them at all.

Re: Vistaprint Invitations

  • My brother & SIL did their invites with VistaPrint, and I've used VP for other things.  Their quality is usually pretty good.
  • I've used them for other invitations. Their quality is good.
  • I've been happy with the quality of everything I've ordered from VP.  I also can't rave enough about their customer service.  I made an error in the design for our menu cards.  When I asked if I could re-order a corrected version for the discounted price I paid for the botched set, they insisted on rush shipping me replacements at no cost to me at all.

  • You can order a sample kit that lets you see the different paper qualities.  I don't like their envelopes.  They are very thin.  I would replace them with standard envelopes from an office supply store.  It wouldn't cost much extra to do this.

  • I printed my invited form VP and loved them. I've been using them for years and have always been happy wight eh quality and customer service.

  • I just received an invite that I know was from vista print and I didn't think the quality was any different than samples I've gotten from wedding paper divas, invitations by dawn, minted, etc.
  • I ordered mine from vista print and they look great!
  • Got my magnet save the dates delivered from vistaprint on Friday. Great quality and great price
  • Used VP and plain card stock--look great and couldn't beat the price.  Also used the business card magnets for my save the date. 100 for $20!
  • We used Vistaprint for our Invites/RSVP cards/return address labels and the quality definitely exceeded my expectations.

Found some invites that were perfect on Vistaprint... it's a folded design with a photo on the front, text inside about the wedding, and then the option to put another photo and fun message on the back.

I've ordered many business cards, postcards, and magnets from them... but never a card that folds.  I was going to get the premium glossy (what I use for my biz cards) until I say that matte is described as being "great for double sided printing." So then I thought "use matte" but I'm concerned that the photos of us won't be as nice.

Has anyone had experience with what kind of paper to use for this style of card, especially if you're going to include photos?

    TIA!

Edit: Sample pack is here: https://secure.vistaprint.com/wedding-sample-kit.aspx?xnav=IandAHub_Resources_1 though by time the pack gets here my 33% off coupon will have expired.

  • We got ours from vistaprint and loved them. Also, our invite, RSVP card in a stamped envelope, and reception card were all included in the main envelope and only cost us one regular stamp to mail!
  • Thanks everyone! I ended up going with Vistaprint. You really cant beat their deals!! I even got a custom menu for the reception printed out as well.
