Wedding Woes

The weekend is almost here

I'm way too amped for our trip.  I have lists made and laundry done.  After a Target run later this morning I should be all ready to start packing.

Poor Son is home again for the third day in a row.  The woman in the office at school is emailing his teachers for any assignments he can do today.  I just want him to feel better already.

Re: The weekend is almost here

  • Ugh, poor Son.  I feel his pain.  It took me forever to feel better with my recent bout of strep.  Have you considered calling for a new abx?

I'm excited for the weekend.  I think we're going to join Costco and do some shopping there.  We also have pics with the kids.  And a date on Saturday night.  We also have some cleaning and more packing to do.

Speaking of packing, I had to buy foil pans last night because I had nothing to make meatloaf in. I swear we said, "oh we won't need this" to so.many.things and it's turning out to not be true.
  • I'm just happy to hear you're still doing well Taw, knowing the level of sickness at your house *phew*.

BFFFFFFF is coming to visit and I'm tres excited.  I've conned her into running the second half of my long run.  This week has been kind of a quiet week for running---I'm taking it 100% as an opportunity to revive my body...and be lazy.  Let's just be honest about it.

  • We have a really cool Japanese garden helped by our sister city that is having it's fall festival this weekend.  We're going to see the kimono show, the sumos, some sort of Japanese traditional music that is considered the "blues" in Japan, and the drum show, which I adore.  Then they do a dusk candlelight walk around the garden that's really pretty.  We missed this last year, so we're really looking forward to it.

Taking friend out shopping for makeup.  Maybe some games.  Other than that stuff, SSDD for the weekend.
  • Varuna---makeup is like the bat signal to me---do tell!
  • This week is kicking my butt. Next week will too. H has been working out of state. Dealing with working full time (after 6 months of UE), dealing with PF on my own, and everything else, I'm just wiped.

Tomorrow I work until 4 (standard Friday close time for this place), Saturday we might go to an Italian Festival in a neighboring county. Sunday PF and I have a birthday party to go to. I'm hoping to take it somewhat easy.
  • the ILs are having a garage sale and I was volunteered to help.
So tomorrow I will go to where my MIL has, while incredibly sick, painstakingly made herself untold hours of work to sort, fold, and lay out Buffy's outgrown clothes.  (it needed to be done, kinda, but she easily made it take 5 hours instead of 1).

    Saturday too probably.
Buffy and I haven't been to church in a month or 3, so I *REALLY* want to go on Sunday, Buffy willing. (I can make her, but it's kinda exhausting if she's being a beast)

  • O-face, it's the friend I had asked for advice for.  We're finally able to dedicate some time and we're going to hit up Sephora and Ulta.

I've had her do the experiment to find her undertone.  My list is as follows:  Try and get the MUF kit that has foundation, primer, and powder in her color.  I think she's a 110 or 115 and those are usually in the kits, but we can order them online now too.  A blush color that both the interwebs and PMeg recommended, so I think it'll be a good start.  Some makeup brushes (she's been using what comes with the palettes).

For eye makeup, I'm going to show her primers, eyeliners/types, and mascaras, see what she's comfortable trying out/spending.  I still have my silly cube that I bought last Christmas and I almost never use it, so I'm going to give that to her so she can start experimenting with colors and different products and how to put things on.
  • Its crazy waht I use, and what I like the most---sometimes the cheapest stuff.  And sometimes the complete end of the spectrum.

    For example:

    Giorgio Armani Silk Foundation
    set with L'oreal Powder

And then Wetn'Wild eyeshadow trio.  Followed by UD mascara.  And NYX blush.
  • Yeah, I told her that we just needed to have a good base, then you can put cheaper stuff on top of it.
Ever since I got that Lancome Lash Booster, I've been debating going back to a cheaper mascara.  I don't think it'll matter anymore with this booster stuff, but since it shows white, i do have to cover it w/something. And for some reason, spending $ on mascara drives me nutty.
  • I still love L'oreal Voluminous.  It's wet but dries down to an awesome more useable formula after being used a few times.
  • Today I JUST broke the habit of spiking multiple fevers day and night since Sunday. Stupid bug. Still feel like crap, but not spiking fevers. Now I'm working from home and wish I could call in dead.

Weekend, depend on what my energy level is looking like. Got fun stuff to do, just not sure how up to any of it I'll be.

  • I liked that mascara, but I had a real problem with it flaking.  I think the booster might take care of that though, so it was on my list of "try again".  That and the pink tube one everyone raves about.  Again, looked good, but flaked.
  • Covergirl Lashblast in the orange tube! Love that stuff and no flaking! I had the same problem with L'Oreal Voluminous. Side note: for my birthday it ordered some expensive makeup brushes from Japan. Totally worth it and I may or may not randomly rub them on my face.

I am not looking forward to this weekend. I'm getting my haircut and eyebrows done tomorrow afternoon. Saturday is a party for my nephew which means hanging out with DH's family. My house is a mess and I don't feel like doing the bargain/negotiate/nag/yell/beg process with DS to get him to clean his damn toys up.
