Ring Shopping - AW/PIP

We went ring shopping a couple days ago!!!

We are looking at 2 of them - Either way - will be ~1ct equivalent moissanite princess center stone

We both like this one:

But my first choice by a LONG shot is this one:

BF didn't give MUCH opinion - but he looked at the second one a lot longer than the first.

Also - I think he is becoming much more excited about our upcoming engagement. Initially when we talked about it - it was "The ring will at least be ordered by christmas." Then "You'll have the ring by christmas." And just last night he said - "We'll go back to the store in a few weeks to pick out and order the one you want, and at somepoint between October and Christmas, it'll be on your finger."

He's so excited, its so cute. He always talks about it when we're with his family/friends about how this is what we're doing and how its coming soon. :o) I love him so much, and I love that he as excited about this as I am!!

  • They are both pretty but the second one is my favorite!

  • I LOVE the second one (it was on my wish list for e-rings, and my e-ring is Simon G so I'm a little biased)

  • I love ring #2!!!
  • Both of those rings are gorgeous!
  • The second one is my favorite too

  • Both are gorgeous! I love them both for different reasons so I'd have such a difficult time choosing!!

  • That second one is drop dead gorgeous!!

  • They are stunning! I really love the east-west setting of the second one, but are both absolutely beautiful.

  • I wanted a Simon G ring. I love the 2nd! Very similar to what I originally wanted before we decided to do a custom ring.

  • I like the 2nd one best too!! I'm not sure about the 1st one, but the Simon G has a matching band, which is nice.

If he does go with that one, you might want to see if the band should be ordered at the same time.  With mine it was either:  Order with the band or give my ring up for 4 weeks while they make the band for my ring, so we just ordered the set (my wedding band actually sets inside part of my e-ring though)

  • Personally I would choose the first because I don't want a curved wedding band or a gap, but I do like that the second at least has a matching band, if you do intend to wear them together!

Artcarved may still have that contest going on where you can send in a photo of you trying on their ring to potentially win it.

  • I love them both! I really like the 2nd one, but I"m also in the boat with @alucky23 that I want(ed) a straight wedding band, not a curved one, in case I wanted to wear them separately. But OMG that second one!

  • Those are both gorgeous, but I love the second one so much! I may be biased since I like the curved bands though.
  • The curved band is honestly why we didn't go with a ring like that. I really didn't want a curved band or a gap.

Even so I love the 2nd.

  • My band is an ever so slight bypass (curved) - I won't really be able to wear my wedding band separate without it looking a little odd.  But I do love my set so much - I still find my self looking at my e-ring and admiring how pretty it is (and I cannot wait to add the wedding band to it!!  I MIGHT get a right hand infinity ring that I'd be able to wear on my left if I'd ever not want to wear my set (thankfully my right/left ring fingers are close enough to the same size).

  • @Dignity100, @Alucky23, @Ollie08 (and anyone else who commented about a curved wedding band that I missed) I actually tried on a straight band with the second option because with working in a dental office - I will more than likely only wear my band once we're married (only at work - because OMG that ring!)

I was nervous about the curved band too, thinking I really didn't want a gap - but it actually looked pretty OK with a straight band. I'll try to upload the pic I took.

As far as ordering them together- the jeweler we are going to will give a 10% discount if we order the wedding bands within 60 days of purchasing the e-ring. So we will probably do that.

  • I'm going to have a slightly curved band. J said he's picking up the rings tomorrow (and he'd better), so I'll post pics. It might help to see what it would look like.

  • I LOVE the 2nd ring (late to the party here).  I got an e-ring with a curved band but it actually doesn't have a gap...the curve is very slight.  I had thought that I didn't want to get my rings put together via sauter but, now that I've worn my engagement ring for 5 months..I really can't imagine a time where I wouldn't want to wear it.

I can't wait to see your ring on your finger officially @lablove86!!!!!
