If I had a million dollars...

I would buy all the shoes.

Anyway. Today through some random internet stumbling trying to avoid Facebook and news sites, I ended up finding all sorts of material goods that I want to buy. I thought it be kinda fun to just have a thread of things we'd splurge on, have been lusting after, or would stab a bitch for.

Shoesssss. These would go great with so many dresses, and would look kicking if I ever wear my waist cincher out in public.

What have you guys been coveting?

Re: If I had a million dollars...

  • If I had a million dollars, I'd use it to fix all the issues inside of our condo. We recently found out that we had mold in the ceiling in the basement, in the ceiling in the kitchen and in our bathroom behind the tile of our bathtub. We need to replace the tub for sure, when we can afford it.

I'd also pay the bills and use it to pay off the mortgage of this place. Maybe BF would use some of it to propose, but that would be his decision not mine.

  • I would hire a masseuse and a maid.
  • Current house paid off, new house built. Student loans paid off, credit cards paid off. New cars for both of us, paid cash. New house and some kind of visiting doctor/nurse setup for my crazy grandparents who live in a dilapidated trailer and don't take the best care of their health.

I NEED them. And guys, they are only like $1k. Totally reasonable.
  • Buy a house in this god damn expensive town.  slothieguy has his dream job in his dream city, but we'll never be able to afford a home here unless he has some rich relative that I don't know about die off and leave his monies to us.

I would buy a huge ass house, but still set aside enough to pay for the wedding, furnish the whole house and build this kitchen. Complete with wine fridge.

  • I'd buy land and build my dream house and then I'd buy a cabin out in the woods.

  • I would hire a personal shopper to completely revamp my wardrobe every season. I just want to walk into my closet and have lots of new lovely wonderful things that fit perfectly.
  • I'm boring. I'd pay off our car, credit card debt and then I'd just buy investment properties.

  • This swimsuit is supposedly a godsend for pretty much every body, but ti is pricey and I just ordered a new swimsuit.
The reviews for this style of swimsuit are unbelievable; different colours and prints available
I want a sexy KitchenAid stand mixer

The Pine All Mine dress is, IMO, over priced and sold out in my size, but would look so smexy and classy on.

I should come back to this thread, because I want to buy all the things.

I have these shoes! I can't wear them long though because they hurt - the straps rub like crazy. That's not usually a problem for me with that brand.

I got them at a random shop for $50 though...

I'd pay off student loans and mortgages for FI and I. The rest would pay for grad school for FI and start a college fund for FSS.

  • Money can't buy what I want most at this moment, but, if given to me, we would not be moving. DH could easily retire instead of waiting 5 years.

I have "If I had a million dollars" as my ring tone on my phone. It always reminds me that no matter what I want at the moment, it can't buy me what I have with my DH. Off course, DH wants a monkey. Lol

  • I would pay off all debt, buy/build new house of our dreams, put whatever amount aside for wedding, go on a couple fantastic vacations (one of which being honeymoon), take both of us on a crazy shopping spree.

Then I would probably hire a personal chef for a year to teach me how to cook healthy.

And invest the rest for our future. (If there is any left after all of that)

  • Oh gosh - I would probably buy a house out in the country on some acreage like we're planning to do in a few years anyway after FI retires from the Army and gets a civilian job.  I would also find a new job that I actually enjoy that probably would only pay peanuts, lol.

  • I'd pay off my school shit and FI's school shit, and then I'd buy a reasonably priced house. Not, like, a McMansion, but something on the nicer end of affordable, and put a few upgrades in. Something like this:

    image

Then I'd buy us both new off-the-lot cars.
    Me:

    FI:

(That's what he has now, except it's red. I love his car.)

Then I would take FI on a gastrotour of NYC. Like, a for-real one. My family goes up there just about every year for New Year's (is it sad that I'm a little, eensy weensy bit disappointed that we're going to London/Paris this year instead? Yes, it's stupid crazy sad, I know. Smack me.) and we never eat anywhere off our normal menu (the Olive Garden on Times Square is a regular place for us). Plus FI has trouble picking five restaurants he'd like to go to in any city, so I think we'd just spend two weeks or so getting fat and happy in NYC.

And then I'd use whatever was left to buy clothes.

  • 1. Pay off student loans.
    2. Buy acreage in the mountains.
    3. Invest that shit and use money to build dream house on newly acquired acreage.  I would do real estate investments.  Probably some cute little beach condo in one of the less popular destinations since that's probably the only way it cost under a million!

  • Assuming that taxes on the million dollars are already paid, I would buy a condo in the city we live in. Use whatever is left over to pay off our debts.

I KNOWWWWWWW IT SUCKS. I can't ever convince anyone to go anywhere new with me though! Like, last year, I scoured the internet looking for neat coffee shops and new restaurants to try because for real I'm so sick of going up there and eating the same shit we eat here, and seriously got shot down every night. It freaking sucks.

We did eat in the rotating restaurant in the Marriott Grand Marquis one night. Really breaking the mold with that. -.-

  • I would go on a trip to europe with my twin sister.  Sometimes, I feel really guilty that H has a job that affords us the opportunity to travel. I would love to go to Paris, Italy, and Switzerland with her. Then come home and H and I would buy a house across the street from her, and pay off her mortgage and build her an addition.  I would, then, go to Hawaii with her family, H and I, and my grandpa to Hawaii.  It was my grandma's favorite place to travel.  Then I would move my Grandpa up to Buffalo, so I could take care of him, for the rest of his life.
