I would pay off student debt/use some money for living expenses while I am attending school and can't work.
Pay off my car.
Invest ~30%, give myself $15K of "anything I fucking feel like doing/having" money, and then I would also start a college fund for my future kids and get a head start on that.
I would also tithe 10%.
Sadly, a million dollars isn't the crazy amount of money it used to be. There are houses on my street that cost that much (I'm not bragging, those houses really don't deserve to cost that much AT ALL, but that's what sucks about my area).
I completely forgot about student loans. I'd use some to pay off my student loans. BF has already done so on his. I'd use some of it to help my parents pay my mother's medical bills.
I'm with y'all who would build a house with a huge gourmet kitchen. Two ovens, induction burners, high ceiling with a pot rack, double-wide fridge, walk-in pantry... and then fill it with All-Clad, Le Creuset, and Global knives.
Hmm... first I would pay off all our debt, student loans, etc. Then we would splurge on a fancy vacation and have a set amount of money that we could go a little nuts with. On my list would be a Chanel skirt suit, Ferragmo pumps, a really nice handbag and a Burberry trench. Then set aside between $70,000 and $100,000 to ensure I have plenty for grad school and spend about a half million on a house- which in my market means we might be able to get a 2-3 bedroom townhouse. The rest goes into savings/investments.
Go to New Zealand! Also invest and buy a reasonable house. But I really want to go to New Zealand. I'm obessed with that country, I want to do so much there. My true dream/goal is to walk all Great Nine Walks. That's why I'm starting now to exercise so I can pull that off and not die ha. I would just want to travel around the world.

I would buy a 2-bedroom condo in my current neighborhood, but like... three blocks closer to the PATH train. I know the exact block I would choose. We probably couldn't afford a super fancy new one under a million, but I'd want a kitchen with decent counter space and an open layout between kitchen/dining/living room. And I would want two bathrooms. And hopefully a balcony or some kind of outdoor space.
And then... a million dollars would be gone. No, just kidding. Sort of. We'd probably have enough left to pay off my student loans. Real estate here is fucking unreal.
I'd also get my freakin' teeth fixed.

@Sugargirl1019 Thanks! I feel like that is definitely on my bucket list to do. Luckily V is on board too, it will be a great experience. I know I really need to start my savings/exercise so I can actually achieve it! We picked New Zealand since its still very geological active as well. I know I have this weird fear of never seeing outside the US. I don't want to be a big fish in a small pond. Not sure if that makes sense ha. Not sure why I'm underline....
@Sugargirl1019 Are you talking about the Great Nine Walks? It's basically these really intense but beautiful hikes that take days to complete.
Awesome goal! It sounds beautiful.
Fi really wants to hike at least a big chunk of the Appalachian Trail together. We probably should have made that goal while I still had summers off. :-/

I think it might be better during the winter, less bugs! V's friends were going to do this, they bought all this equipment and ask V if he wanted to come. V said no because he knew they wouldn't last long. They came back in a week haha
