Got Our Engagement Photos - Update

I look like a whale in every single one. Well, except one. To quote my co-worker, in that one I look like a "Chinese Whale".  What does that even mean? :(

Now that I've taken another look at them, I don't hate ALL of them. But I still feel really self conscious about them, especially because I'm so big and FI is normal sized, so I feel like the pictures are off balance.  I don't think I'll be posting any of them just yet (sorry ladies) but FI says he loves them already, even though he hasn't seen them.

    Oh, honey. This is EXACTLY how I felt about mine. I was in tears for days over it. Seriously. But then, I got over it and looked again. And you know what? Despite my body image issues, the pictures were actually great. FI and I looked really, genuinly happy and in love, and isn't that the point of the pictures anyway?

    Not to mention, every person who will/did see my e-pictures is someone that I know well and am close to. They know what I look like. I doubt our loved ones will judge us on what we perceive to be not attractive about ourselves. They will look at those pictures and just gush over how happy and wonderful you and your FI look together.

    Your co-worker needs to go fuck themselves. 

    I don't know if this will help you, but whenever I see a picture of myself I immediately look at my arms and my legs (if wearing skinny jeans) because I think those are the worst parts of me. I've tried to start looking at my face and my waist and the things I actually like about my appearance. It's made a HUGE difference.

    Your coworker is a complete jerkbag.

    I have serious body image issues.  It doesnt matter who tells me I am beautiful, I still find the flaws.  

    Take a look at those pics again and see your FI looking at you and how you're looking at your FI. :)

    Your co-worker is a piece of shit!

    I have body-issues as well. When I look at pictures of myself I'm hypercritical and immediately look at the areas I'm most self-conscious about and tear it apart.  Usually I'm missing how good I actually look in the picture and don't realize that no one else is seeing what I see. I'm sure you look gorgeous in those pictures!

    Fuck her. Whales are fucking gorgeous geniuses. And, for the record, while I'm sure you are lovely and smart, I'm also fairly confident you do not look like a whale in your photos.
