Just over 3 years. FI & I were dating long distance for about a year. Then I moved in with him & we dated for another 2+ years before he proposed. We have a 2 year engagement, which we are halfway through so in one year from this Friday we will finally be getting married!

About a year after we met, I moved to his state a year later he proposed with ring in hand ;-) He still teases me that I turned him down flat 2 times...

I'll have you know that my brain first read this as "H proposed before we'd even met in prison."

Not engaged yet, but our 9 year anniversary is next month. I know he's bought the ring, so I hope it's soon!

So, met in 2012, engaged in 2013, married in 2014 and baby in 2015! We're not ones to waste time, obviously . Being in our mid & late-30s has it's perks…years of experience makes it easy to know what you want (and DON'T want) quite clearly, which helps speed up the timeline!

*eta - my last serious relationship before H lasted 8 years and I never once thought we would get married.

Mine was six years and I never wanted to marry that dude either.

March-April is when we decided to date, we got engaged in December.

Funny story: we used to hate each other, became besties, and now here we are.

We had been dating about two and a half years. We had been friends all throughout high school though and he moved away and came back. When we are married we will have been together about four and a half years.
