October 2014 Weddings

DIY To Dos?

Only 29 days until we're married!  Which means - only 29 days to get all my projects done!

Still left to do:

- favour tags/wrapping/prep
- sign for favours
- press leaves for centrepieces
- make tissue paper flowers for centrepieces
- quotes for centrepieces
- aisle bows for ceremony
- flower girl baskets
- programs
- veil
- shoes
- thank you baskets for parents & pastors
- FI's gifts (2 x wall art)

... I think that's it.  I HOPE that's it!  :)

What do you have left to do?

Only two weeks for me! Yikes!
    - finish favor tags and prep
    - make signs for: the road outside our venue, the bar, guestbook, photo booth
    - make centerpieces (potted succulents -- waiting until the last minute on this one so they don't die!)
    - decorate our wine box for the ceremony (we're doing a wine box ritual)
    - write letter to FI for the wine box (to be read on our 10th anniversary)
    - finish writing/designing programs and print them
    - finish all the music playlists (an iPod is our DJ)
    - taste test recipes for our signature drinks
    - escort cards and seating chart
    - finalize all wording for ceremony

  • Less than 2 weeks.

    Escort cards
Paint the pumpkins with table numbers.
Fill vases with pine cones and leaves for centerpieces.
    Bake cakes and freeze.
    Make candy favors
Baskets for flower girl and bridesmaids.
    Finish comic book flowers.
Make table signs for guestbook, card box, seating chart

I think that's it... Ughhhhhhhh. LOL.
  • Make Bride/Groom baseball caps
Finish up Info Guide for my guests
Finish up folders w/park maps; resort maps; time line of our wedding day
Make decorations for our resort window

  • Less than two weeks here. Had a major meltdown last night and threw out basically all of my DIY projects. So my to-do list has changed drastically.
-pick up more glassware from the thrift store
-put chalkboard square and burlap flowers into picture frame
-write the stupid alcohol quote on the other chalkboard
    -make food.
  • Very minimal DIY:

    • Write "Cards" on the chalkboard face of my cards box
    • Iron 14 square napkins that will be in the middle of the tables with the centerpieces/candles placed on top
  • I still have some final touches to make on our parent's gifts (we made custom cutting boards) and the flower girl basket.

    I also need to:

Print our table numbers, menu cards, escort cards, and programs.

Paint some tree slices that have been drying in our backyard with chalkboard paint for bar menus.

    I just don't know anymore...

  • 2 1/2 weeks for me and I have a crap ton to do:

    *get favor's done
*finish getting wedding party gifts/ parent gifts
    *finish programs and print them
*put together stuff for welcome bags
    *make welcome bag tags/favor tags
*get pumpkins for tables and aisle
*get timeline and name lists to DJ
    *figure out parent dance songs
*get do not play list to DJ
*track down last few people who haven't sent in their RSVPs
*Organize everything and create centerpiece instructions for country club
    *finish putting together the centerpieces

I'm probably forgetting a bunch of stuff to do. :-( I need an assistant, or a clone so I can do wedding stuff all day and they can work for me. LOL.

    Wedding Countdown Ticker

  • *finish the table numbers
    *figure out table seating
    *escort cards

see I knew I forgot stuff. lol
    Wedding Countdown Ticker

  • I still have to finalize my songs (again! because I'm so wishy-washy) Get all of my decor in order Finish putting together favors Buy parents gifts (have NO idea what I'm buying them because I want it to be extra special) dress alterations next week! Finalize wedding day timeline Hair trial is in 1 1/2 weeks Order cake and cupcakes Figure out a guest sign-in book I'm sure a million more little tiny details will pop up that I'm forgetting but for now this is what I've got to do

    Alcohol quote?
  • All of my DIY's left to do are printing projects - they sounded so easy when I thought about doing them.  Programs, Thank you notes for each placesetting, Welcome bag inserts - I decided to scrap the menus.  Who reads the menu, anyway?  They're going to eat what's put in front of them (which is what they ordered!).  I'm sort if in the "I don't care anymore about the details" phase!
  • @itsmestacy123 - I would read the menu if it were made out of chocolate,

but otherwise you're right - it's one of those little details that you stress about and in a year nobody will remember if you had menus or not:

    @dignity100 - Haha, that's awesome.  I probably STILL wouldn't read it - I'd just eat it!
