Weird things your pets do...

Spinning off our gross-ass tampon-chewing and underwear-licking dogs... what other weird things do your pets do?

We used to have a hotot rabbit named Trix. Prettiest thing ever, looked like below, but a damn bitch. She would jump up in the air, spin in a circle, and PEE like a freakin' sprinkler of nastiness all over the living room. Anyone who's had rabbits knows that their piss comes from a special level of hell.

  • Winston used to anoint a lot, which i common for hedgies.  I also caught him tubing once, where they put their head up inside a toilet paper tube and then lift their head in the air and swing it around.  But both are common for hedgies.  Oh and he would Igor, as I called it.  He'd crawl under his wheel and then stretch all 4 legs out front and back as far as he could while yawning.  His front paws would pick up and down like little Frankenstein arms.  That was my favourite.

  • My dog has smiled like this all her life:

  • As soon as the light goes off, if my cat can get to the wall by my head she presses her nose against the wall and starts meowing at the wall. If a pillow is in her way, she will just curl up by the pillow and go to sleep. But if the pillow isn't in her way, she meows at the wall and will not stop until you put a pillow there.
  • My dog is ob-freaking-sessed with her paws. She will spend hours making sure that they are perfectly groomed. Sometimes FI will mess with her and move some of her fur out of place on her paws. She literally glares at him and then promptly fixes it so it looks identical to her other paw. It is beyond weird.

  • Maury spends a lot of time licking his asshole and penis. A classy animal.

He's been neutered and, as I've been anxious about the behavior, we've taken him to 2 vets. I worry about him getting sick and wondered if he might have worms or anal gland issues or something of the sort.

The first vet ran a few tests and did an exam, telling us that the dog's just an oddball but there was nothing to worry about. I still worried so I took him to another vet. She also checked him out, looked over the test results from the previous vet and told us not to worry about it.

FSS keeps trying to encourage the dog to give kisses. I keep reminding him where his tongue has been.

My cat used to say 'Uh oh!" all the time.

I got a video of him doing it when he was a kitten (pardon the vertical, I was trying to make it happen on the fly)

The best time he said it, FI had brought our dog in from a trip to pee outside. She would not pee, and only wanted the ball. Well, apparently she whizzed on the floor. I was in bed, and Schultz (orange menace) ran upstairs, went UH OH! and jumped in bed with me.

And then I heard yelling when Craig discovered that the dog was peeing on the floor.

Sophie pats my face in the morning when she's decided that they need breakfast, and Daisy used to bring the living room remote upstairs all the time and I SWEAR TO GOD it was because she wanted whoever was sleeping to turn the TV on in there for her.

ETA: This is my grandparents' cat. He likes being swept:

  • Cali likes to chase her tail.  She's the only cat I've seen do that.
Maggie likes to lick/kiss my face (she's done it since she was a kitten and only to my face).  She'll knead my neck/boob area and lick my chin, sometimes smothering me with her body at the same time.

  • My cats are full of weirdness. One jumps randomly off of the walls and steals socks and butter from the butter dish. The other one eats towels, socks, fleece jackets, etc. and is afraid of my toes. Another one goes nuts over the safety plastic used to seal a container and wanders around crying. My oldest eats plastic, chews on power cords, and poops outside the box when she's mad. She's on kitty prozac and still does it!!

  • When I trip or bang into something or just say "ow" Yuri our feather baby says "sorry". It's really cute because it's never his fault. It's just me being clumsy.

Zoey , our cat, will lay on the pillows at the head of our bed and watch us sleep at night. Then she will stretch out both front paws and place one on FI'S head and one on mine.

  • I peeked outside before I let FSS's dog in, and he was standing in place, humping the air.  Never saw a dog do that before.  I let FI know that dog has a screw loose somewhere.

  • Leto will steal things out of people's purses if you leave them on the floor...so never leave your purse unattended at my place.

Rabbit Pee is the worst!  My dad raises bunnies - the smell is terrible!

  • My dearly departed kitty Kitten, love to have this one part of his lower back scratched and when you hit just the right spot he would move his head back and forth and make clicky noises with tongue. He also used to chase his tail.

My cat Neffie has so much weirdness. She runs around the house meowing for no reason. She loves to have her belly rubbed, I've never seen a cat love having their belly rubbed. She likes to groom me and h. She like to lay on the cable box.

Callie my calico doesn't have too much weirdness but she does like to sleep above my head with her head on my pillow.

Laci my dog tried to purr like a cat. It comes out sounding like a small growl and freaks people out but when they stop petting her she is all like "hey don't stop".

  • MIL thinks that her dog was spayed too early so she never quite figured out her sexuality... as a result, she humps the side of our dog's face/neck. (The big cow-spotted dog, not the little hairless one.)

    She also licks my toes.

  • Our pug likes to like pillows. You'll just look over and that little fucker is going to town on a couch pillow! He just soaks them with saliva! Our best friends have a Fox Terrier puppy that loves alcohol. Like we were at a party, and there was a bottle of vodka on the ground - little guy chased it around and beat on it for like 10 minutes. He couldn't get to it -but was just rolling that thing everywhere! He also has the tendency to pop unopened canned beers he can get to or knock over and drink opened can beers. It's really strange and kinda funny!

Does your furbaby do the bichon blitz? Ours is nuts.

Both my cats loooooooove having their bellies rubbed. They are the only cats I've ever known to enjoy that. They are also two of the nicest, best-behaved cats I've ever met, so that might have something to do with it.

  • If one of my cats gets startled, he will release his anal glands with the foulest odor you have ever smelled. It's like death is escaping his ass.

He also licks plastic bags. When we bring grocery bags in, we have to put them on the counter because if we put them on the floor while we go out for more bags, we come back to him sitting in the middle of them licking them all.

  • DH's (now OUR) cat is weird.

We live in Ohio and are Buckeye fans.  DH has taught her to respond properly when someone says 'O-H' she meows, so it sounds kinda like 'I-O'.  My 3 1/2 year old nephew thinks it is hysterical.

  • Our dog is the worlds biggest c*ckblock does that count?!?

He barks at shadows and is constantly licking his paws.  It's gross.  I constantly check them and I've had the vet and groomer do the same to make sure nothing is wrong.

Ahh!!!!  Hotot! I've always wanted one.  Was she fixed?  Unfixed females do stuff like that all the time.  They're also worse than cats in terms of bitchiness if you don't get them fixed.  Males will hump a lot but for the most part remain sweet regardless if you fix them or not.

My dog walks when she pees.  It's super annoying, especially when she has an accident in the house.  Could you not just pee in one place on the tile?  Does it really need to be a trail through the carpeted living room?

Uhhhh... I have no idea. Probably not. She was a giant bitch. If we reached in her cage to pet her she'd pounce like a cat and scratch the hell out of our hands.

BOTH of our old Golden Retrievers were walking pee-ers. Ruger would pee during walks around the block, leaving a hilarious squiggly line of piss on the sidewalk. Huey didn't get as many walks since we lived in the country by then, but he was a giant baby who was scared of everything. If he heard something like the electric pencil sharpener or applause on TV, he would run across the house, peeing the whole way, and hide under my parents' bed.

  • My dog will lick his nose for HOURS on end. It's so annoying, it sounds like someone smacking on food. FI swears he's licked all the black off his nose, and I'm starting to think maybe his nose has gotten a bit more pink over the years... But the vet says this is impossible. What does she know, anyway?

Also, he sits on FI's shoulder like a parrot. See below

At first we didn't know what the ass thing was, we were just like "oh my god, do you smell that?! I can't even leave out a wrapper from string cheese or anything plastic, she will lick/ eat it.

From the time Gus was a puppy, he has always done this weird 'upside down sit/lay/pretend I'm sleeping because I'm snoring but I'm really wide awake' thing in my office:

This was probably 6 or so years ago. Different offices, different chairs, but to this day, he still does it (pretty sure because it garners him lots of treats from passer byers ;) ).

When Kapuchee was a kitten he used to suck his toe and knead with his paws. He used to do this until he fell asleep. His toe would be soaking wet after. He also loves to turn on the lights sometimes. He just jumps up on the wall and hits the light switch. When I lived on my own, the first time I came home to my bedroom light on, I nearly had a heart attack. He also purrs like a pigeon. Not like the regular car purr, like instead of a meow he purrs out loud like a pigeon. Maybe it's more of a coo?  So I come home, and I'm like "Hi Kapuchee!" and he responds "Coooo!" He also runs away in horror whenever I sing "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston.

Pesto loves to sunbathe. Whenever there is any bit of sunshine, coming into the apartment, he finds the perfect spot, and just sprawls. He loves chewing plastic bags, so we need to keep them hidden. If he gets to one, he will chew it, and poop out a nice plastic covered surprise. He loves to curl up on our clothes. Especially dark clothes. He is a mostly white cat.

They also both love attacking our food, and mealtime is a constant battle. We had to get a garbage can with a pet lock on it because they would knock the old one over, and raid it,  when we slept. And if the litter box is not up to their standards, or it is TOO clean, they will poop on the ground right next to it.

Oh yea, and Kapuchee plays fetch with straws. He also hoards them behind closet doors.

I busted out laughing at your response to your cat only because I can sadly relate!! Is your cat also tipping the scales at 17 lbs?

The very first time he did it, it got in my hair! I was gagging and trying to get in the shower and had to wash my hair MULTIPLE times to get the smell out! We had been laying in bed too so I had to strip my bed at 11pm!

We use plastic bags to line the bathroom garbage can and sometimes he will need a plastic fix and I can hear him in there licking. Oh that sound!!! Plastic is his crack.

  • Also I'm pretty sure my cat never learned how to meow/ has no idea that her vocal chords exist. I've had her for 10 years and have never heard her meow.

I'm pretty sure he was a thespian in a former life, with the amount of dramatics oozing out of his wrinkled little body ;)
