List of Columbus reception venues that allow you to choose your caterer?

I am getting so annoyed. We are struggling to find a reception venue because we want to 1) pick our own caterer and 2) have a plated meal. I am willing to budge on the choosing our own caterer as long as we can have a plated meal. I am so sick of seeing all these prepackaged places. Can anyone point me to a list?  Thanks!

  • What kinda place are you looking for?  We looked at a couple venues Little Bear is in powell and lets you choose your own caterer. There is also Amelita mirolo barn in upper Arlington that lets you choose your own.

photokitty has a discussion for barns and rustic venues. It is a compete list and you can go to their website and most  of them will tell you about catering too.  Hope that helps you out. Good Luck I know it can be hard. I went through the samething.

  • Berwick Catering (tried, true, priced right and one of my favs in town)  has this list on their website:

  • The Venue at Corazon now allows your own caterer I believe, this is where I got married in January but management has changed hands.

  • Most venues that do not have in house catering will let you have any licenced and insured caterer, you just might have to pay an extra fee. What sort off venue are you looking for?

  • Our reception is at The Vault and we get to pick our own caterer. (Also, any non-Saturday wedding is pretty darn reasonable if you're looking to host an open bar!) Bentley is super helpful too - he even gives you lists of nearby hotels and caterers. Bonus: there's a bar near the venue that will automatically let you have an exclusive after-party if you don't want the festivities to end.

There's also the Greek Church, which allows you to bring your own alcohol and gives you a list of 7 caterers to choose from.

We're doing a plated dinner as well and these were our top 2. Good luck! :)

I say "that's what she said" more than any normal person should.
  • We are getting married at Amelita mirolo barn.  They let you use your own caterers plus they have a list of ones they recommend especially if you are having alcohol.  We are talking about using Berwick party house as our caterers!

  • The Berwick Manor is one of the venues we are seriously looking at for reception.

Berwick requires you to use their catering services, but has good food and good pricing. I have had unpleasant experiences using them off site, but have found them to great when using their venue.
