@eilis1228 - FI is having a groomswoman as well. My BMs are all picking different dresses in different shades of blush pinks. FI & his best man are wearing light gray suits - so the groomswoman got a dress in the same material as my BMs, but in a light gray color. Everyone together will look cohesive, but there will be a delineation between the bridesmaids & groomswoman.

@LaPeanut1018 - What day is your last day at work? I'm completely useless. 2 days of work left for me (can't get me out of here fast enough). Tonight I think I'm going to work on my window decorations for my resort while watching TV. I just want to relax a little! I found out that NO taxi company around here has good reviews. I'm HOPING that it's just because people expect a taxi to come on time, pick them up, drop them off at destination and never think to give a review unless the taxi screws up (is late, doesn't show up). My brother lives pretty close to me and asked if he and SIL could share a taxi with us if we went that route, so now I feel I have to go crazy finding a taxi... why can't he just OFFER to help instead of adding more to my plate and having me go crazy to find a place that has a taxi-van!? All he's said is 'we'll pay for half' - of course you will because otherwise you're not going with us!!

@eilis1228 - I like that picture you posted with the GW in the skirt and white shirt, that looks really nice! My FI and I are going to New York next Thursday to Sunday for a conference being held by a church/band from Australia. His church uses a lot of their music, he and the music pastor went last year and really enjoyed it. So this year it's FI and I, the music pastor and his wife, and FI's best friend and his wife all going. We've organized our flights to have some time Thursday and Sunday to just hang out...to be totally honest, I sort of forgot that it was coming up so soon, I only just got the days off approved last week!

@Dignity100 - I am sorry that various family members won't stop driving you crazy But ONE WEEK UNTIL YOUR WEDDING!

@swazzle I'm jealous of your potential HD giftcards!! The workers at HD & Lowes know bf & I by name now. We're there at least once a week, usually more.

All of you with bridal brain, haha I wish that was my excuse, I just am procrastinating for the sake of procrastinating.

@Dignity100 Aren't your parents paying for him to go to your wedding too? You'd think with so much of the stress of attending the wedding not on him, he'd offer to at least help you a bit with the smaller logistics like taxis. I'm sorry your family is being a pain in the butt!

Hopefully you'll forget all about that stress when you and FI get to DW.

The shade of grey FI wants doesn't match the grey that the BM dresses come in though. I forgot all about the groomswoman getting a dress when I chose those dresses. Oops. She's now stated she wants pants and a blazer though, which works for me. I figure I'll just go to Ann Taylor or somewhere like that during a sale one day, and we can find some great suiting pieces at a reasonable price.

@lmcooper86 I really loved that pencil skirt idea, but GW vetoed it. Sending her pics of the different options next to GMs helped her figure out what she wanted, so I'm less stressed now. Have fun in NY! I'm glad you guys will have some downtime to explore and relax.

@speakeasy14 She ended up vetoing the skirt because she didn't like how it looked next to the suits. She wants slacks and a blazer instead. I'm fine with that option. Less stress than a BM gown. But yes, I thought the pencil skirt option was super cute too.

@eilis1228 - Me too! I haven't been to New York for a few years, and the last time I went it was the middle of winter. We'll be pretty busy Friday and Saturday, but I'm looking forward to having some time on both ends of the trip to just hang out and explore a bit. YAY long weekend!

So I was crazy busy around lunchtime and by the time I was able to take a break our cafe was closed. I've been waiting for my ride to get here because I need food, and low and behold one of the guys I work with brought me a sandwich. I guess he deserves one of these:

@TwoDimes Yeah, it's a little over a year away. With the holidays coming up and a lot of our WP on budgets (quite a few grad students and college students in the WP), I want to give everyone enough time to plan for it financially. We're obviously willing to help if someone in the WP can't afford the full cost of the attire, but I figured I would give as much notice as possible with the costs. GW's girlfriend is also is a BM in our wedding party and is a full-time grad student, so I believe GW will be paying for both a BM gown and her suit. That's quite a bit of money (in my opinion at least), so I just want her to be aware of costs and have enough time to save if she needs to. We've also got another couple as both GM and BM, and their daughter is a FG, AND they have another wedding that same month. They don't have much money, so I want to get pricing info to them soon too so they can save or let us know if we need to help out financially. I promise I'm not *completely* crazy!

Have fun tonight at the open house! That sounds like a lot of fun!

@TwoDimes - I'm 7 months out (ummm HOW) and I only just talked to my last BM on Friday. I totally could've done it sooner, but I wanted to talk to them all in person and everyone has been so busy! Every time I think "I'm awesome and on top of wedding stuff because I'm a bit neurotic" I look at @eilis1228 and wonder if I can just get her to plan my wedding too lol

@lmcooper86 lol I promise I'm not trying to be BSC about the planning. Just trying to give people enough time to plan for the cost. Plus, the cousin who's making my flowers for me said she can't do anything until she knows the shade of purple I'm doing for my BM dresses, and since the bouquets she wants to do can be incredibly time consuming, I figured I should give her as much time as possible to work on everything. I'd feel really guilty if she felt crunched for time after doing me such a big favor. I'm by no means asking anyone to actually purchase/rent these things now, but as long as everyone has the information they need, I'll feel better. I have a feeling wedding planning will come in spurts for me.
