FRIDAY!

WOOOOO HOOOOO! What do you have planned for the weekend?

Tonight, I'm torn between packing and catching up on my DVR. H has been sick all week and I've been feeling it in my throat, nose, head, and eyes since Wednesday (today being the worst) so maybe I should just relax. Someone is also coming to view our apartment at 8.

Tomorrow is a certain someone's bridal shower (ahem @buddysmom80)! I'm meeting @hummingbird125 at her house and then we're driving together. @csousa1 is meeting us there. I can't wait to see the beautiful bride-to-be and shower her with presents and mouth kisses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow night I have to head back home because I'm taking H to see Fleetwood Mac. Christine McVie is back for this tour and according to the setlist online, she's singing Songbird to close out the show. That's what I walked down the aisle to so I'm fairly certain I'm going to cry!

Sunday I will definitely be cleaning and packing all day until.......... EAGLES SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!

And I'm off on Monday so WOOT!

Re: FRIDAY!

  • good morning!  I got to sleep in until 6 AM this morning, so I'm feeling really good!

I'm off at 11:15 today.  going to go home, do my JM Yoga Meltdown workout, and then H and are going to eat lunch at a New Mexican place that's supposed to be really good/authentic NM style.  we'll see if it reminds H of home!  either way, it looks fabulous.  we're going to head to the outlet malls after that to get started on some Christmas shopping with the Columbus Day sales.  and then grocery shopping and buying some really expensive dog food.  after that, no idea.  I need to study tonight.

tomorrow I have my PMP class in the morning (but only 4 more classes after that, what??) and then some more errands.  I'm trying a recipe out of the new ST book for dinner on Saturday (the stuffed poblano peppers), so I think want to get a cast iron skillet!  I have a big dutch oven and a tortilla skillet but neither of those will work.

Sunday we have church and choir and naps.  always naps on Sunday.

I get to work from home on Monday!  so much better than having to take a day of leave because the feds are shut down.  so I'll be all snuggled up and working with the pups at my side on Monday, can't wait.
  • @Swazzle -Have fun at @buddysmom80 's shower! Thanks for the invite @buddysmom80 !!!!

Tonight I have to go home and bake some cookies for the tailgate tomorrow and then finish packing my stuff and Maddux's stuff to go to Clemson this weekend. Then we are going over to my parent's house for dinner and dropping off Maddux for the weekend. After dinner we will drive over to Clemson and we are staying with H's grandmother for the weekend.

Saturday we are getting up early to go tailgate the Clemson/Louisville game! I'm sure Clemson will whoop them but I'm excited since we haven't been in a year. I'm sure the rest of the day we will just chill and hang out with family and friends.

Sunday we come home and H promised me we would stop at the pumpkin patch! I need pumpkins on my door step like NOW. Then...I need to write down my speech for @LaPeanut1018 's wedding in a week......EEEKKKKK! It's all in my head but I need it on paper just in case lol.

Ugh, is it sad that majority of the people in my office know not to talk to me until I've finished my coffee?  And I'm jealous of anyone who is off on Monday.

Aside from not being completely awake yet; this is going to be a busy weekend.  Tonight we're going to a Halloween party. I packed up our costumes last night and am excited to see what it looks like together.  -- Side note, because I'm a nerd, this is probably the only time being in a cast that I'm excited: Since we're going as Bonnie and Clyde it is perfect that I'm in a cast since Bonnie severely burned her leg in a car accident and permanently walked with a limp. So I can say that I'm Bonnie after her accident.

Tomorrow we're going to Beerfest.  From what I understand it is a street festival where you get a wristband & tasting glass and get to try beers from all over the place. Sounds fun, but I'm nervous to be doing that much walking on crutches, especially around drunk people.

Then I get to go through all of my kitchen stuff to see what is gross/broken/damaged, and get rid of it.  I moved home three years ago, so never unpacked that stuff, and would rather not bring anything useless into the house.  And my last roommate ruined my pots and pans, so I have no idea what they look like after what she put them through, then being in a box for three years.  Plus, it's an excuse to go shopping for new kitchen things!

  • Happy Friday!!!!!

Tonight is H's and I's date night. We're staying in and I'm making our fave meal: baked ziti and garlic bread....and drinking lots and lots of wine.  We're gonna light a fire in the fireplace and watch a scary movie :)  I'm so excited. I love being able to go out for date night, but I loooooooooove staying and snuggling with H.

Saturday we have no plans. H has rehearsal in the morning. We might go to the pumpkin patch.

Sunday H has to play all 4 services at church :\  3 in the morning and 1 in the evening, so that's pretty much our whole Sunday. Not real happy.

I'm soooooo excited for this weekend!!!!!!!!!

When I get home from work today, FI's best friend from HS will be there. He's staying with us this weekend and he's going to be our first non-family houseguest ever. We'll all probably head into the city for happy hour soon after I get home, and meet up with some friends. I'm kind of hoping my ex-roommate and this guy will hit it off. No idea how late we'll stay out or where we'll wind up, but we have to show this guy a good time.

Saturday morning I miiiight go to the mall to go shopping because I have NOTHING to wear to @buddysmom80 's bridal shower! Hopefully she doesn't mind if I show up nekkid. Thennnnn @Swazzle will meet up with me and we'll road trip up to CT together (HEY - who's driving??). After the shower (which will be my first bridal shower ever!), I'll get back home and go out in the city with FI and his friend again. I think we're taking him to the Upper East Side tonight, and downtown tomorrow - but other than that, our plans are unclear.

Sunday I'll sleep late, and the boys will head to NJ to go to an NFL game. Then I'll pick up my friend and her friend from the train station and drive them to a barn nearby where they both have horseback riding lessons scheduled. I wish I could start riding again with them, but I just can't afford it right now which makes me sad. Still, it will be nice to at least be around some horses. Then, my friend is planning on hanging out at my place for a few hours, where we'll have lunch and just chill.

At some point this weekend I also plan on ordering our Save the Dates!!! Actually.... I may start another thread shortly to ask y'all to vote on my options...

  • @dignity100 OMG 4 days!!!

@buddysmom80 Yay have a great shower this weekend!

My weekend should be ok.  Today it's been 5 years since H & I have been together.  We're not really celebrating or doing anything until next weekend.  Tonight H has hockey games, he's finally back to playing after hurting his knee. I'll be home cleaning and relaxing.

Saturday night/late afternoon we're supposed to have friends over for a game night, but not that many people responding whether or not they were coming home.  It's so much hard to get together with friends when they all have kids now.  So I was excited about but now not so much.  We'll see I guess.  Sunday we have no plans probably just relaxing and watching football.  Sunday night The Walking Dead is back which I am very excited about it.

  • @swazzle...the ebolatuma still has it's grips on you, eh?

    @ buddysmom80 HAPPY SHOWER WEEKEND!!!!!

    *****************************************

This is going to be a weekend of weekends. I might cry. Tonight I have to do a thousand loads of laundry and pack suitcases and diaper bags. Then I have to empty out the car of everything except the car seat.

Tomorrow morning I have to take Bean to get a hair cut. This will be the first time I've seen mom's (and Bean's) old hairdresser. Mom had her stroke just hours after Kacy cut her hair and painted her toe nails. I have a feeling it's going to be emotional walking in there and telling her. After that we'll head home so I can shave my legs and pack all of the suitcases into the car. And then...we get to climb into the car and drive 6 hours to NC. With a 12 yr old and a 7 mo old. Again...I might cry. I have a feeling that our normal 6 hours is going to turn into 8 hours. Pray for me, sisters.

Sunday, D's brother is getting married. We have no idea what's happening. They didn't send out invitations. All we know is that it's at 2pm. Our invite was over the phone. Everyone's was. They went back and forth on whether to wait or do it now. They finally decided on doing it now, and possibly PPDing it later. There have been ample eye rolls at that. Some of you might remember that this girl is the same one I got into the argument regarding whether or not comforting a newborn boy (I'm talking days old baby) emasculates them. Her argument was that it does. I basically told her she's a fucking nut ball. There has been little communication since then. When mom died, she insisted on coming up with D's family. Why? I don't know. I didn't have the energy to continue despising her, and she played all huggie huggie kissie kissie. I know I'm being bitter, but I'm still working through shit.
Anyhow...I'm gonna try and brush off my grumbles and smile.

Monday morning, we jump back in the car and drive back home. I'm hoping that we get home early enough, and that I have enough energy to decorate the house for Halloween.

  • RAWR!!  I left early Wednesday and come in today because we had a 10 AM meeting scheduled... and then they cancelled it just now!!!  RAAAAAWR!!!  I could have started my weekend early!
  • @CocoBellaF - I slept "in" today too! 5:30 woo hoo!

@southernpeach89 - Your weekend sounds like such a blast!

@Dignity100 - FOUR DAYS OMG! I hope everything goes smoothly this weekend before you leave!

@speakeasy14 - How fun! Will you share pics of your costumes? Beerfest sounds AWESOME.

@severmilli12 - Your date night sounds like such a nice time! I would love a (working) fireplace.

@hummingbird125 - I'm going to let you drive for once :)

@TwoDimes - How's the process going for you? Did you go through the inspection stuff?

@peaseblossom55 - In a few weeks can we make plans to get together for coffee? I'll be living so much closer to you!

@beanbot2002 - The ebolatuma has evolved. I *think* it's allergies but make a sinus infection trying to rear its ugly head. I'm sending you ALL the hugs I have this weekend. I'll be thinking about you <3

  • @swazzle yes definitely plans for coffee that would be fun!! Yay!!!

That's how I feel about today! (And no, I don't like the Cowgirls)

I'm so happy it's freaking Friday! Tonight we are planning to go through all of our stuff and see if we're ready to do the garage sale tomorrow. We haven't had much time to get everything together, so I'm trying not to set myself up for disappointment if we can't get it done in time.

Tomorrow we're doing the garage sale, or possibly absolutely nothing! And Sunday we just have church and I've got to finish editing. Our new computer should finally be here by Wednesday and I'm stalking the shipment tracking. I cannot wait for our new Mac to edit on. I'm SO excited. I think I'm more excited than H who will finally be able to work from home again for the first time in a year!

@swazzle - Please please please give @csousa1 a HUGE snuggle from me! I miss your faces terribly! Lots of love to @buddysmom80 at her bridal shower too!!

  • @Swazzle Have fun @buddysmom80 's shower! I can't believe she invited @southernpeach89 and not me!!!

@TwoDimes Yaayyyy new house! How did the flood plain stuff go? Did you ever win your appeal?

@Dignity100 You are almost there! You can do this!

Yesterday was my last day in the office until I come back from the honeymoon...so two weeks until I have to commute to work again! I'm working from home today, Monday, Tuesday, and part of Wednesday and then I'm not thinking about work again until October 28th. I'm getting the carpets cleaned today and then later this afternoon I get my highlights touched up! Two more things checked off the pre-wedding to do list!

Tomorrow FI and I will probably do a bunch of yard work and hopefully finally finish our parent gifts.

Sunday FI has some sort of get together at a friend's house...I think it's a surprise bachelor party. I'm going to spend the day printing our menus, programs, and escort cards, transporting some things to my parent's house and running a bunch of other errands. That evening I'm hoping to meet up with some girlfriends for shopping and dinner.

@TwoDimes Not even two weeks! One week and a day!!! It's two weeks until I have to go back to working in the office again...I'm working from home today until Wednesday and then I'm on vacation from the 16th through the 27th.

That's so crazy how that worked out! Who'd think you'd get so lucky and get a civil engineer as the seller?

  • @LaPeanut1018 -I was being sarcastic lol. @Buddysmom80 didn't really invite me even though she probably should have and I'm quite sad about it not going to lie.
  • @Dignity100 - OMG 4 DAYS!!!!! I can't wait to see pics. I know it's hard, but I hope you can relax at some point before your wedding!

@swazzle - I think we are suffering from the same thing! Allergies trying to maybe be a sinus infection. Either way my face hurts and this blows.

@beanbot2002 - All the HUGS for you! I seriously wish I lived closer so I could snuggle you for all the days. And hopefully they decide against the PPD. H was all "Yeah, PPD is a GREAT idea!" and I was all "Umm how about we just have a 10 year vow renewal if it's that important to you".

  • @TwoDimes ALL THE THINGS! Final venue meeting, DJ meeting, house cleaning, grocery shopping, printing stuff, dropping all the things off at the venue, buy RD beer and some mixers (cause we've already got wine and liquor), get my ring cleaned, get my nails done, get a light spray tan to hide my tan lines from my bathing suit, write thank you letters to the bridesmaids, and a letter to FI, probably more stuff I'm not thinking of right now..

  • @Swazzle thanks! I look forward to them. I HATE cold weather but I've been waiting to use our fireplace for so long.  When we start looking at houses, a fireplace is a must-have on our list!

  • @severmilli12 FI and I LOVE our fireplace! We had picnics in front of it all winter long and even roasted marshmallows once (we don't use those chemical starters so I think it's safe). Definitely don't compromise on getting a fireplace!

  • @swazzle  I will do my best to remember to take pictures so I can share them!  And Beerfest is in NJ, not sure where exactly, I was just told we're going haha; but it does sound like it will be fun (as long as no one knocks me down).

beanbot2002 Lots of positive thoughts for a stress-free car ride, and fingers crossed for no PPD!

LaPeanut1018 that's awesome that your job is letting you work from home before the wedding so you can get stuff done!  Enjoy the over 2 weeks away from the office!!!

  • severmilli12 OMG that is so sweet and romantic, definitely would always have to have a fireplace after that comment!

  • @Buddysmom80 @dignity100 @lapeanut1018 LADIES *flails with excitement*

Tonight, we have a group dance lesson, which I'm anxious about. I'm not good at dancing, and don't really want to have to show off how not-good I am in front of lots of other people.

Tomorrow, no plans besides laundry, although we'll see. Sunday, we're with the in-laws all day for my father-in-law's birthday. Monday, I've got no plans, while J is off at his brother's.

  • @Ollie08 - Good luck at the garage sale! I hope you sell all the things and make all the money :) Mine's like post-nasal drip so a sore throat and now I'm all... mucusy and my head/eyeballs are not happy.

@LaPeanut1018 - ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! Omg!!!!!!! Pics of all the things you do on Sunday?

@TwoDimes - That's fantastic! I'm so glad FEMA sided with you guys. What a relief. Everything's good on our end. We're (finally) done worrying. We signed for the survey yesterday, which -- holy shit -- is freakin expensive! I had to send over a couple more documents to my loan processor but as far as I know, all is good! And we most likely have a new tenant lined up for our apartment as of November 1st :)

@severmilli12 - Our new house has 2 non-functional fireplaces. I wonder if making one of them functional again is a possibility. Something to look into! My aunt had a fireplace when I was younger and when I was there, I'd just lay in front of it and pass out.

@speakeasy12 - OH! Have I asked you before where you live? I'm in NJ which is why I ask. Good luck on your crutches! Just start taking people out by the knees with them if anyone gets in your way.

  • @lapeanut1018 that's right! I'm sorry I totally forgot.  I've never been to Munich, I'm very jealous. Be sure to take lots of pictures!
