Do you cook, bake, or eat? I LOVE to eat, it's pretty much my favorite. I don't bake very much, and I live on my own now, so even though I'm not the best, I love to cook. I love cooking chicken all types of ways.

  • I went to a museum in MI to see the exhibit! I loved it!! It was awesome!
  • Welcome! I like you already because you like the Outlander series! What do you think of the TV show? I only saw the first episode because it was on Youtube but I thought it started out well!

  • Is Bobby an asshole orange cat like mine and @GoldenPenguin's? He is adorable but I know how deceiving looks can be especially when it comes to cats of the ginger variety.

  • I second @swazzle's question about the orange devil. If you have an orange cat that isn't a devil, you might not be able to play with us. (Because we'll be too jealous.)

    What's your favorite restaurant?
What states have you visited? Favorite?
What's your most favorite & least favorite thing about being a nurse?

  • Welcome!  You seem nice, and I hope you stick around!

If I may ask, what condition do you have that may cause you to need IVF?  I ask mostly because 1) I'll likely be TTC in the near future and 2) I have major ladybit issues too.
  • Hi and welcome!

My H and I met the same way. It took his BFF, whom I dated, a whole 19 months to come around to liking the idea of us being together, the first 10 of which he refused to talk to H or I. One drunken night, we all apologized to each other and all is well. Are your friends still upset?

Have you seen the alternate ending to Titanic? I just saw it yesterday.

I have an orange cat who thinks he's a dog too! He actually sits at the back door with the dogs and asks to go out.  He's also just like @goldenpenguin & @swazzle  cats, a little devil.  There are several holes in our screens from him chewing his way out, because he's not a dog and we refuse to let him outside.

rn1989 is your cat an orange devil too?

Brady also thinks he's a dog. He plays fetch, and even though he's terrified of the outside, he likes to act like he wants to go for a walk every time we take the dog out.

    Daisypath Anniversary tickers

  • LaPeanut1018 - I love the Outlander TV show. It follows pretty closely to the book. I only hope they can keep it up.
Swazzle - YES. Today he was ALL over my counters, inside my fridge, he licks butter if it's sitting out, he comes and irritates you if he's hungry until you wake up and feed him. I LOVE HIM though. And yeah, he does sit by the door and meow to go out with my dogs too!
    GoldenPenguinWhat's your favorite restaurant? Chili's or Gino's.
What states have you visited? I haven't been many places, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and California for my cruise. Favorite? Hmmm...ALL of them because they're not Indiana.
What's your most favorite & least favorite thing about being a nurse? My favorite favorite thing about being a nurse is the lifelong learning that comes along with it. We are constantly advancing ourselves as humans, and the medical field is no different. My other favorite thing is how much opportunity it provides people. I have my BSN (bachelors degree) and if I wanted to, I may find an office job, or work on a different unit with different types of patients. I can teach if I wanted to. I can continue on and get my masters degree. SO MANY CHOICES. One of the reasons I chose nursing. My LEAST favorite part about being a nurse...hmm...probably patients that don't want to hear what I have to tell them, or are unwilling to make the best of their time in the hospital. I know it's hard to be there sometimes, but it makes it much worse for them. ALSO, with those patients, I find their families are some of the most difficult to deal with as well.
TwoDimes - Craziest thing I've seen as a nurse...hm...probably so far, my patient coding. HE WAS TOTALLY BLUE, his tongue was sticking out, we couldn't save him. Respiratory failure. I cried. Or the one time my aide walked in on a patient giving himself an enema??? I'm kind of a new nurse (graduated last May) so I haven't had too much crazy yet, or I'm just used to it.
loves2shop4shoes - I have a condition known as Turner Syndrome. My ovaries didn't properly developed, which affected my overall development too.
    Here's some more info: http://www.turnersyndrome.org/
audrewuh - YES, they're still really upset. B and P dated for 10 years. C and I dated for 5 1/2. We all became good friends and one thing led to another... I used to think I was gay (C is a woman haha) but about two years into it I knew it wasn't going to work. She's much older than me, more experienced, and has an overall terrible attitude about love, which always kind of knocked the wind from my sails. I stuck around, we even moved in together. Three months later I broke up with her. We tried living together for awhile which didn't work. She made me promise I wouldn't see P, she'd hate me if I did. ( Too late, I'd been seeing him for awhile)...Well listen, it's not my fault it took her six months to move out. Ugh. She finally has left here a few months ago in June and my brother also lived with me. He moved last week and had always known about P.  With her and him gone I finally have my home back, and finally have the freedom to be open about my relationship with P. EXCEPT B (his ex) is insane. COME AT ME BRO, I love him with all my heart. ( Hoping I still appear mostly normal after all that)

THANK YOU EVERYONE!! Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, and taking the time to welcome me. ALL of you have made my day!

  • @RN1989, I actually know someone IRL with Turner's.  I'm so sorry you have to go through that.
  • @RN1989 one of my best friend's has Turner's syndrome.  I'm so sorry!

    Anniversary

  • @rn1989, welcome! I'm a nurse too, fresh out of school and just passed NCLEX. What kind of unit do you work on or hope to work on someday? Any advice for a brand new RN?

Non-career stuff, since I'm sick of thinking about it right now: What are you hoping to do or accomplish before the end of 2014? Favorite (or weirdest) holiday tradition? What's your MBTI type?

Oh man, I had one of these. Although I figured I was bi. . . But about 5 months into it I realized that I'm really not into being around lady bits that much, haha. As much as I love my own, I mostly like to forget it exists. :)

Were you born in 1989 (like your name)? If so, we're birth year twins! Thanks for writing in my post too. It's nice to meet you!

@loves2shop4shoes - thank you, I'm still working on self acceptance. I was diagnosed when I was 17 years old. @Peaseblossom55 - Thanks to you too. I think I had to be made this way for a reason. I keep hoping for the whole one day I'm surprised and pregnant but I know it's not going to happen that way (most likely). P knows about my condition and he's repeatedly told me over and over how much he loves me anyway, and how I'm perfect the way I am. He even went to my latest check up with my endocrinologist with me! He's willing to go through IVF with me. He's comforted me about it (and other things as well.) He's just been amazing. I can't tell you what his acceptance means to me. I cannot wait to marry him, whenever that will be. @CLoGreenEyes -First of all CONGRATS ON PASSING NCLEX!!! No easy task for sure, I know. You should be proud of yourself. Now to answer your questions! I work on a med/surg unit, so I see a variety of things. Eventually I'd love to get into labor/delivery. Maybe someday! For now I'm still learning too and med/surg is a great place for that. I've been a nurse for a one year and four months. The most important advice I could give you are these key things: There will be times you want to give up, remember why you did this in the first place. Try not to put tasks off and wait until "later" because you'll either forget or run out of time. DON'T BE AFRAID OF DOCTORS. They're jerks sometimes, but shrug it off, you're not there for them, whatever! LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENT! So many times we get so busy but make sure and listen to them because it can make a difference. Maybe not in a big way, but at the very least your patient will feel like you really took that moment to hear them. On a bigger scale, maybe you'll catch something you wouldn't have otherwise and correct a mistake. I know I'm long winded tonight, but don't get so caught up on the little details of your shift. Do your best, put forth an honest effort, chances are things will be ok. Don't take it too seriously and make yourself sick with worry. Make sure the patient is taken care of and at the end of the day, that's all that matters. As for your other questions, I hope to get engaged by the end of this year! Not sure if P will feel ready by then (financially anyway) so here's hoping! My favorite holiday tradition is just being with my family, and black Friday shopping!!! And I'm not sure what my MBTI type is, actually. @AlPacina- yep, June of 1989! Thanks again ladies!
