Another Mass Exodus

This time it was the Bump. The SAHM board peaced out to Proboards. Similar to how it all went down with Stage and Linger from what I can gather. People were being banned left & right without having their full 5 warnings. So now TN is dead and TB has lost a whole slew of regs. Have the XO Group Gods not learned anything over the last few years?

Does Deloitte or Booz Allen do consulting on How To Run An Internet Forum?

Like, I know they're expensive, but seriously. Figure it out. If it takes a bit of an investment, oh well. My field is healthcare compliance. If I, as a relatively young/inexperienced worker, can figure that shit out and follow the complicated territory that is healthcare, someone can figure out an f-ing internet forum.

I don't understand this shit. Everywhere I'm looking on these boards, I'm finding myself going, "IT IS THE INTERNET, IT IS NOT THAT SERIOUS."

Don't ban unless people go crazy and start posting personal information/harassing/selling shit and if they're not doing these things, they get their warnings and hopefully everyone just hits the chill button a million times and goes about their day. Right? Maybe? Am I reaching for the stars here?

From what I read on PB, they asked to have a co-mod for that board due to a banning gone awry. KJ who goes by BJ over there said ok. They nominated and voted on who the co-mod would be. They told BJ and she then said, on second thought - no co-mod. That's when shit went a bit crazy over there. It did lead me to a very facinating thread on fruit snacks and the BSC discussion over feeding your kids fruit snacks!

Yea, having worked in daycare in the toddler room. Some of the stuff I've seen moms want to feed their kids, makes me shake my head. Don't ever talk to them about it, unless you want to get your shit rocked. The only exception - peanut butter anything at a peanut free facility.

@oliveoilsmom are you talking about all the drama on the Parenting board? I only lurk over there because bitches be cray. I believe it all started over a serious debate over letting your kid cry it out. The thread went out for 40+ pages. Heads rolled.

I dont know what it is but everything is a HUGE debate. It seems like there are no opinions, everything has a right and a wrong answer. It scares me. I am definately not mom enough for that board.

ETA: reading fail on my part. I have never ventured to the SAHM board. the parenting board is scary enough for me.

Yeah, it was the first thing I noticed. Then people started feeling bad for the nanny. My favorite comment was the response, "You better get that kid some fruit snacks before a guy in a van offers him a case of them." The "mingling with the help" comment really pissed me off. I'm only on page too, but so far no one there has addressed it.

These chicks are crazy. Well, not all, but omfg. Is it really that hard to say "No" to a kid?! When my parents told me no, I knew that was that. I really hate some of these crazy moms. I watch the news on channel 11 as I get ready for work, and they have a segment called "The Moms" in which these 2 women talk about whatever topic it is that is presented. I find them really obnoxious and annoying. IMO they act as if they have this parenting thing down, therefore can offer their world class advice. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these annoying chicks was the OP of that post.

Threads like that make me love my siblings even more. They all run a strict house, but when Aunt Lynda or grandparents pops in everything is fair game. All the kids learned very early that just because they can do something with Aunt Lynda does not mean it's allowed everyday at home. Sure they asked, maybe even twice, but after the 2nd NO they understood what a special occasional treat meant.
