For engagement rings yesterday! It was so fun. He keeps teasing me now about what he's getting and when. I'm not used to this having been married before for so long. Am I normal being this excited??

I didn't get too excited to go shopping for them, but once we decided to have all of our rings made by the same silversmith, I was soooo happy once we got them in the mail! They're neat.

I was super excited!!! My only problem was that there were so many settings I liked that I couldn't narrow it down, let alone decide.

I was pretty excited, I'll look at sparkly things all day long.

I had a few that I had it narrowed down to, then I saw "the one" out of the corner of my eye - Thats the one he ordered last weekend - so now I get to play the waiting game of when will it happen???

I know it takes 4 weeks to come in - so in a month I'll probably be going BSC - and figuring out something to occupy myself . . . . Like reading 138483 books, and baking, and going to they gym because I'm baking so much . . . ect. hahaha

I had zero desire to pick out my own engagement ring so I didn't go shopping with DH. My sister did, though, and they had a ball.

@LabLove86‌ I hear ya! He just told me a little while ago that he had to go to the mall tomorrow. I asked him why but he wouldn't tell me. I may be 51 years old but I'm not good with waiting and wondering lol

FI is a very private person, so the only person who knew that he would be proposing was his Mom (because the diamond that was going to be used for my ring was from her engagement ring).

I am so happy that I had no input. I don't think that I would have ever picked out the ring that he got me, but I love it! I really reminds me of him.

Plus, I'm terrible with waiting for things, so I would probably build up the proposal way too much, diminishing that wonderful proposal that he did give me.

But it is super exciting!!

We shopped together. Ultimately, I picked out the setting I liked, DH picked out the diamond. I think it was a good compromise. He was happy knowing he didn't have to worry if I'd like the setting, especially since it's a piece of jewelry I'd be wearing EVERYDAY!

I was not around when he purchased it though, so I had no idea when the proposal was coming. It was an exciting time all around!

@JoanE2012‌ I tried on quite a few from different places and the salesmen wrote the numbers down for him. I could tell which ones he liked and ones he didn't but still don't know which one he will buy.

I had no part in choosing my ring, and preferred it that way. DH and my sister made a wonderful, thoughtful selection.

That is exciting,totally normal! My fiancé designed my ring himself, but decided to show me throughout to make sure it was what I wanted. He said he's only ever getting an engagement ring once and he wants it to be perfect. The month is a killer wait, but it's worth it! I've had mine for a month now and I still catch myself watching it sparkle and rainbow.
