Candle substitutes?

I had a wonderful idea for the centerpieces, a small white flower arrangement surrounded by green candles (our wedding colours). My mother brought to my attention that people will be drinking and dancing, not to mention fire regulations. Does anyone have any affordable ideas for substitutes for green candles?

    Green glass candle holders with battery operated "candles" inside. Lunabazaar.com should have both.

    Remember when people put candles on their Christmas tree?  Who thought that was a good idea?  But really, candles on a table during a party is totally fine. You're way over thinking this.  If the venue allows it, go for it.
