He pleaded with me that he would meet his deadline and to remove my posting of him on yelp as it would ruin his business. Sympathetically, I did against my better judgement and am left a month past his deadline and 13 months past my wedding with no video and no response. </span>

    Just to give you an update...John Kevin contacted me about a month ago and said that he would give us the raw footage.  My husband drove down to his Beverly studio and was going to wait for the video, but it was taking too long to download so my husband left the hard drive with him.  He called a few a week or two later saying that the hard drive was ready to be picked up or that we could send it us, but we had a few things going on that we couldn't get back to him right away.  The only thing that worries me about sending the hard drive is that I hope he packages it nicely so that it doesn't get ruined on the way to us.  My husband sent him an email the other night saying that we can pick up the hard drive, but have not heard back from yet.  I will call and follow up with him to ensure he checks his email.  I'm hoping that we can get the raw footage at least and see the quality of the video.

    My husband and I just celebrated our 1 yr anniversary and still no video :-(  I'm really hoping that we could meet with John to get the video editted and just get this over with.  If he really couldn't handle all these weddings and doesn't have the support to do so then he shouldn't commit himself if he can't turn it around in a timely manner.  I feel that he shouldn't have to pay the remainder of the balance after all the hassles that we've been through.

    Hello everyone,

    I am yet another victim to still not having my wedding video from John Kevin Films! My wedding was in October 2011, so over a year ago.  I read all your posts a couple of months ago and I didn't want to say anything giving him the benefit of the doubt.  However, like many of you, I was given deadlines and shocker, still no video!  I have remained VERY patient in hopes of having a positive outcome but have reached a point where I'm done waiting. Enough is enough.

    I would like to pursue legal action. I saw one of the posts saying that one of you has already contacted a lawyer. If you don't mind, please private message me and provide me his information because I would like a court order as well. It's really sad that it has to come to this but I'm done with his excuses, they are not my problem anymore. The best message that I received from him was saying that he is so busy that he is not filming anymore videos.     It's really sad that something that should be so simple and happy has turned into so much stress.  It's even worse when you have all your family and friends asking when they'll be able to see the video.   • We are in the same boat. What is his direct cell number? I only have the 800#. 
  • Same story for my wife and I. Wedding was June 2012 and here we are in February 2013 with no video. Same stories as everyone else. Months of no responses and then when you do get a hold of him stories about remodeling of the studio, family tragedy, bad software, etc.

    John has picked the wrong groom though. I encourage everyone to file complaints with the BBB. His business is already rated F, but more complaints will help dissuade folks from falling for his deceptive practices. Additionally, I will be creating a website devoted to the fraud that is John Kevin Films. That way people who use search engines to look up John Kevin Films will be aware of the fraud. Anyone that would like to contribute their horror story, please message me.

    Its been almost 3 years and we still DO NOT HAVE OUR VIDEO!!!!!! We are in the process of taking him to court in order to get our video. He still has our money too. This guy needs to be sued and never film someones most special day again!!!!!! 
  • Hi everyone, I wanted to leave an update on what happened with my video. John did come to my wedding in Vermont back in 2011. He was a bit in people's faces and his light on his camera was extremely bright, but in my wedding day happiness, it was easy to ignore. However, almost three years later, I still have not gotten my video. Every few months for two years, I would e-mail him, asking when the video would be ready. He always had an excuse, and I was willing to be patient. But now I have come to the conclusion that he is a scam artist. Do not use John Kevin Videography! The worst part is not losing the money I gave him, but losing the opportunity to re-experience that day. So sad. Here is a picture of him working at my wedding.

     HE IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!! Everyone that is reading this and has also been scammed by him lets band together and write reviews on as many websites associated with wedding videography in chicago area and wherever else he does video. I'm also keeping an eye out for him at wedding expos across chicago and illinois. This guy needs to be STOPPED.
  • Our wedding was on November 10, 2012--still don't have our video. We have received low-quality footage and are sending a flashdrive to get full footage. We have been promised our edited video by the end of the year. I will agree that John was very friendly, had good samples to show, was excellent at our wedding ... and I fully understand personal issues, but this is ridiculous. I got the story of why it's taken this long--on top of personal family challenges, high def footage he didn't expect to take this long to edit, had to rebuild a computer, taught his daughter to edit (makes me feel good about my video), etc. These MAY be legit reasons, but I'm sick of waiting. If anyone is interested in considering filing a civil suit together, please reach out to me at mlwed227@gmail.com. I would LOVE to avoid this, but if I don't get my video by the end of the year, I'm going to take alternate action. Very frustrated!!!
