Yikes. I know there was an episode of Extreme Cheapskates on HGTV where the dad threw his daughter a sweet 16 party at a strip club. But, it was during the daytime, no strippers, they decorated with streamers and stuff so it didn't look too stripperish. But, it had a DJ set up, sound system, and he could get a good deal on it, so it worked better than you may expect. But, that was during daytime hours and not during prime business hours.

This whole scenario just seems so messed up. And this is supposed to be a surprise party? I really hope that someone blows the surprise and gives her a heads up on this one. Is "baby daddy" maybe on bad terms suddenly with the mama and trying to get revenge on her or something? I'd think that if one of her close friends is helping plan it that he wouldn't let it get too out of hand, but who knows? Yeah, I'd be tempted to go just to witness the disaster or see if they have some big secrets that allow them to pull this thing off.

You have to get more scoop from your Best Man! You KNOW he knows some stuff.

This does sound like it will be a shitshow, though. I just hope that the mom-to-be isn't really embarrassed about it--if she's on board, I guess good for her, but I would feel really bad if I got there and she had no idea her baby shower was going to be at a strip club.

I wish I were closer to her, but best man is her really close frien so I don't want to overstep. @KatieinBkln‌ , I'm totally gonna try and get the scoop from best man. I'm guessing he may not want to overstep the baby daddy? He seems upset about the venue. I barely know this dude (baby daddy) so idk what his deal is. FI kept asking if I was absolutely sure about the venue- I was like ummm look a the texts with BM and me- it's definitely there!

***Update***

I got a text from BM a little while ago telling me that the venue changed. I asked him what prompted the change, and he said he didn't know, but assumed that baby daddy (finally) realized that having the shower at a strip club was not the best move. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out....Anyways, he updated the new venue and time on the event page, and her sister posted that we will have a choice of chicken, steak or fish, there will be open bar, and to bring our dancing shoes. The place looks really cool and like a lot of fun (it has horses and ponies! In Queens, NY! Who knew?!), so I am relieved for her. I'm guessing her sister must have stepped in when she found out what the original plan was, and took over. The snarky side of me kinda wishes it was still at the strip club just to see how it all would have gone down. But my normal, pinkcow self is really relieved and happy that she will get a good surprise event.

As a sidenote, I snooped on baby daddy's FB page, and I see the he is a manager at that strip club. So he was probably able to throw the party there for free, and I'm assuming that was his logic. Which totally doesn't make his original plan any better.

One of the pics on Yelp shows ponies and horses! I actually re-checked the address because I was thinking ummm am I searching in NYC right now? And the exterior looks awesome! I'm super excited. Not your typical baby shower spot still, but whatever, I'm all for open bar baby showers!
