Hi y'all- curious if any of you ladies did anything in particular in the week or two leading up to your weddings to avoid getting sick? I'm getting married in three weeks and with cold and flu season just starting to get underway where I live and with the heightened stress of the run-up to the wedding that might compromise my and/or my FI's immune systems, I'm interested if anyone has any helpful tips!
Re: Avoiding Getting Sick?
Note: I did not follow my own advice and lost my voice the first day of my honeymoon. :-p
I also take zinc and vitamin c during this time of year.
Definitely be attentive to hand washing - use a good quality lotion to keep your skin from becoming dry. I like vitamin C as well.
This might be a dumb question... can you do that without changing the color? Our sheets and towels are black and I always thought using bleach, well, bleached things!
Sleep, deal with stress by taking a walk or doing something that relaxes you. Wash your hands and eat well too.
Don't touch your face, especially your eyes.
Drink lots of fluids, Emergen-C is great as are any of the Naked drinks but especially the Power C Machine one. Zinc, echinacea, and ginseng are good immune boosters too. Steer clear of Gatorade- it's basically artificial flavoring and processed sugars. There are better ways to replace electrolytes- http://foodbabe.com/2012/07/10/the-secret-behind-gatorade-how-to-replenish-electrolytes-naturally/
Try to get a lot of rest- yeah I know, yeah right! ;-)
