Church services shouldn't air on public broadcasting networks? 


    You took one word out of the context of my entire statement.  Reread what I wrote and take it in context.  So maybe "allowing" was the wrong word choice, but no I don't think they should have a TV show, and I don't support their show by actively not watching it. 

    A lot of the shows you mentioned are trashy at best, but pretty harmless.  I don't think the Quiverfull belief system is harmless, and my main beef with them is not their views on premarital sex.

    For a woman to be raped, you must think she is allowed to give consent. In their religion, only the man has rational thoughts, so the woman defers to her husband to make decisions for them.  That show sickens me. If you watch the married couples, in their interviews, when they are next to their husbands, they give short answers and look to them, as if to say, "Did I say what you thought I should say, dear?"  These women are just an extension of their husband's property. 
       The biggest moment where I thought the family was showing to be more like a cult was when Anna was asked if she wanted anymore kids.  SHe said she was good for now, and she didn't think she could handle as many children as Michelle Duggar (just paraphrasing her, not exact words).  She wasn't seen for a few episodes, and then on the topic of more children, she stopped answering, smiled, and Josh was answering for her.

    Did anyone else cheer when they heard Honey Boo Boo wasn't coming back on the air? I never watched the show but I was unfortunately well aware of it, and the fact that it got cancelled somewhat restored my faith in humanity. I understand that it was cancelled over the sex offender issues, but still. It's gone and that makes me happy.

    Honestly, all the sex offender stuff surronding it leaves me feeling sick to the stomach, and I'm not sure how much money Junes given to the douchebag, so I feel like the kids are once again getting shafted.
