    1.  Yay!!  I hate being without mine, but they're always so pretty when they come back all cleaned up.

    2. Wherever they get attached.  I really love the little sapphire on the side.

    3.  I do know, but not sure if DH knows that I know.  I didn't want him to tell me, but I've seen the sales slip when it went back for resizing/soldering.  And the sales lady told me too when it was in for repairs (I knocked the centre stone a smudge loose) cos she had to write the value on the slip.  Knowing DH, he put it on credit for the reward points and paid it off at the end of the month.  He's not one for debt.

    1. Yay!

    2. Attached.

    3. Yep. Paid in full in cash (he had to pay for it in 2 or 3 installments as to not alert the IRS with large cash withdrawals!). Crazy if you ask me!

    1. That's awesome! I'm terrified of loosing a diamond.

    2. My hand is all cut up from a car accident, so here's one of my ring in it's box.I'm so in love with it :)

    3. I know how much it cost and it's fully paid off. My only requirement was that FI not go into debt for my ring.

ETA: No idea why it's sideways and huge...

Everyone's rings are gorgeous!!! We picked out my e-ring together, so I do know the cost and that it is paid off.

Here is a picture of all the rings right after we got married (squee!)

Yay for getting your ring back!

My e ring was a ring my FIL made for my MIL back in the 70s. I know what it's valued at. I haven't been wearing it though - it would have been impossible to have a band designed to wear with it. So lately I've just been wearing my wedding band. I love it.

    Here's my set.
I know what the purchase price was and the appraised value.

    Paid in cash

Wedding band bought through etsy since for some reason 18k yellow gold was much cheaper ovee.there than in Canada.

Excuse the fact it looks like my fingers are cut off at the knuckles... They are not.

It's my grandmother's ring, so no cost to FI, but I know the insurance value! Still need to pick out a band for it!

I know how much it cost.  We picked the diamond, put it in a simple solitaire setting and as a wedding gift, DH upgraded my setting it match the wedding band I picked out.  We financed it in a few payments, both times.  It didn't bother us to do that.

    1. Yayyy awesome!

    2. Thank goodness I had a pic of it with my manicure intact. Here it is:

    image

I really love it. FI picked it out with the help of his sisters but he knew from some rings I'd shown him that it was my kind of thing.

    3. FI didn't want me to know how much it cost, but I'm a curious snoop so I did some digging. Honestly, I couldn't care if it cost $5, I just like to know things. So I'm pretty sure I know both how much he spent and how much it's worth. FI doesn't have a credit card, so unless he got one without telling me, it's probably paid off.

@Sugargirl1019 your fingers are definitely NOT stubby, I'm a little jealous of how long and thin they are. I have knobbly knuckles like my grandma...ugh.

@AlisonM23 I love your ring and love that it's an heirloom!

FI told me the cost, so I know approximately but forgot the exact amount. It's paid off.

Yay for getting your ring back.

My stone came from MIL, ring was designed by me. So I know the cost and it was paid at the time it was delivered. I know the appraisal also.

    That's mine! That's not my hand, it's from the seller's website. Too lazy to take a good hand picture. (;

    And we bought it together!

I am in loooooove mine. FI picked it out himself! Whenever people point out my ring, I always make sure to tell them he picked it out himself haha.

I do know what FI paid, I had to take the paperwork to my insurance company to get it insured. He got no interest financing and is still paying it off.

    Edited for typo

I know (pretty much) how much mine cost and H paid for it in cash. I love it.

I bought the band at a wholesale shop in the diamond district (NYC'ers, they have GREAT prices). I wanted something that looked good solo and it only cost $350.

We designed my engagement ring together and split the cost. We paid for it entirely when we got it. My wedding band was designed to sit flush to it.

Ummmm how much does it cost to redip, and how long does it take?

I don't understand this "re-dip" thing. Is that something you do with gold rings? I don't own any gold, so clueless over here.

The white gold rubs off after a while, leaving rings looking a little yellower, or just not as shiny.  They re-dip them in the plating to make them pretty and new again.  I think it's technically palladium coating or something.

ETA - my last re-dip come when I sent it in for repairs.  I wasn't expecting it to be re-dipped, but it came back that way.  No charge from my jeweller.  It was out 2-3 weeks though, cos they had to tighten the centre stone too

I can't help on price, either. It was a surprise for mine to come back dipped, for free too. It only had little scratches on the underside of the ring. I had a diamond replaced, and it also had to be shipped to the jewelers corporate office then to Tacori. It took 6 weeks to have it redipped, a diamond replaced, and all the prongs on everything diamond checked.

Ah- okay. I've never had a jeweler mention it to me, so I had no clue what it was! Lol

But they're right, it's only white gold.

Not exactly. All white gold is a little yellow, because it's an alloy of yellow gold and other metals like nickel and palladium. To make it shiny, they electroplate it with rhodium before it's ever sold. Eventually that rhodium plating fades, showing the true color of the white gold. Replating it makes it shiny white again.

    1. I GOT MY RING BACK FINALLY! Tacori repaired it for free (yay) and even redipped it! It looks like brand new and I keep staring at it all the time. Sooo shiny and sparkly! 2. So many new married ladies - share pictures of your rings! So many new engaged ladies - also share! 3. Do you know how much your e ring cost, and do you know if it's paid in full or still being paid off? What are your thoughts about paying off rings while you're wearing it? (I know how much my ring cost, and I also know they are both paid in full.)
    1) WOOHOO!

    2) image

    3)  I do know how much my ring was.  DH gave me the paperwork and appraisal so I could get it insured. The ring was paid in full when he bought it.  I'm not debt adverse for a good cause but a larger/more expensive ring is not a good cause in my opinion.

My husband paid for my engagement ring in cash. I only know the appraised value, but I know he paid less.

I paid for my wedding ring and he paid for his.

Soooo basically, with 8 days to go, redipping is probably off the table before the wedding :-p

Thank you. I knew I wasn't totally right on the white gold thing
ETA why weird formatting on iPad?? Maybe I've fixed it

    3. I know what my e-ring cost ($2, paid in full ;P) and I know what the band I picked out cost (also $2). Then DH and MIL did a shneaky shneaky thing and bought new bands (which I love, just BTW) so I dunno what they cost, but I'm sure they're paid off as well.

    1. YAY! I'm so excited for you! Your ring posts made me so unhappy for you, so I'm really glad to hear everything worked out.

    2. I went through all my comments looking for one that looked like it would include a ring pic. I *know* I've posted one. Hmm. I'll come back when I discover where my phone has disappeared to - I haven't seen it since about 1:30. Possibly in FI's car? o.0

    3. I know mine was paid in full, and I know it was less than $150. I won't be spending even that much on my wedding band; I'd like to stay in the under-$50 range if possible, which it should be if I stick with sterling to match my e-ring.

Some jewelers might do it in house, so ask!! I couldn't have mine done at my jeweler (they do it in house) because it would void Tacoris warranty if another jeweler touched my ring. It's weird.
