Ideas for a place to buy a dress for engagement pics

Hi ladies! Our engagement photos are a little more than 2 weeks away and I still have not found a dress that I am comfortable in. Im a size 14-16 depending on the dress, and I just can't seem to find anything that makes me feel beautiful. I'm actually starting to dread having the engagement photos done because I'm scared that I won't like any of them

We went to the mall and went from store to store (we were there literally 5 hours) and still can't seem to find anything. Anyone have any suggestions of a store to look at? I saw a dress that I loved online when looking on my phone (@ Dillard's) but of course by the timeI made it home they sold out of it! I just don't know what to do at this point

Some of the stores that I like shopping for around my area are -

Dress Barn (they're not as 'old lady' as they used to be)

Torrid

NY&Co (I think they go up to a size 20 and their sizes run a little big)

Online shopping that's usually pretty awesome (2 weeks SHOULD be enough time if you place the order tonight/tomorrow

ETA - remember to wear something you're comfortable in. If you're uncomfortable or not confident in the clothes you're wearing it will show in the pictures - so even if you have a dress/outfit you've worn before but you know you're comfortable in them - wear those.

I usually shop at Dress Barn, Kohls and Old Navy. Most of my actual dresses come from Dressbarn, though modcloth has a few I've been looking at, just haven't ordered anything from them yet.

ETA - Kohls is hit or miss for me. . . . i'm going tonight so it'll be interesting to see if there is anything there!

Thanks ladies. One of my bridesmaids told me about a place called Fashion to Figure. After I looked at some dresses online, I saw they had a store near me, so We went in there and I actually found the perfect dress

Now just to find the right shoes

I will definitely keep the places y'all suggested in mind, Im going to have to find another dress for the rehearsal dinner as well.

@mimihankston15 - I just looked online and Fashion to Figure has some cute stuff, no stores close to me though.

I just remembered I have a holiday party that I'm going to have to get a dress for.

How dressy do you want it? Nordstrom has some GORGEOUS dresses. I recently bought this one:

but, honestly, they have a ton of choices in your size. Cruise their plus size selection. Some of them are 40% off right now.

I buy most of my dresses online from Nordstrom, because the actual stores don't often have the same selection. They offer free shipping for returns, so there is no cost to return if it doesn't fit.

I feel your pain! I've lost a lot of weight and am too small for my old stores (14/16) but still to big to look right in the "regular" clothes. I stumbled across a wedding dress that is perfect for me, but finding stuff for my trousseau is getting discouraging. I'm ordering a bunch of stuff from Torrid.com

What did you end up doing?

@txbandwife I actually found a dress at Fashion to figure, although I had to get the smallest size that they had and It was borderline to being to big. It worked for the pictures though.
