Matching shoes?

My colors are black and Lime green, and I've found some amazing green shoes for my BM's to wear and I fell in love with them and would love to sport the same ones! Do you think it is too much for the bride to wear the same shoes as the Bridesmaids or should I choose something completely different?

Thanks a bunch!

I don't think it would matter at all.  No one is really going to be looking at your shoes making comparisons.
  • I see nothing wrong with that.
  • If that is what you want to do then why not! I think its a cute idea if you love the color!

I plan on having Tangerine or Turquoise color shoes haven't decided yet.

My MOH is going to have a Tangerine dress. Flowers girls are gonna have 1 in Turquoise and one in Tangerine. with matching shoes...

  • I love your idea. My girls are wearing copper shoes and I am wearing the same color, just a different shoe. I love the idea of wearing a different color shoe rather than the traditional white/ivory colored shoes. Have fun!!!!

  • I think it's too much for the bridesmaids to be wearing the same shoe as each other, personally.  Are they all truly okay with the shoe?  Unlike dresses, shoes can't be altered to fit, and can cause physical pain if they fit poorly.  I've heard of a girl having to have surgery due to the shoes she wore in a wedding.

If they're all okay wearing the shoe, then it's perfectly fine for you to wear it too.  But if you're mandating a shoe, you should be paying for it yourself, and should make absolutely certain that they're all okay wearing it.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • My bridesmaide dresses are hot pink and their shoes are silver.  However, I am wearing hot pink shoes with my dress.  I think it is so fun.

I agree with this. The strappy sandals that most girls pick out for their bridesmaids are atrociously painful for me. If you're set on a particular hard-to-find color, offer to buy dyeables in the style of their choice, and then get them dyed to match.
  • I say if you love them go for it

  • It's your wedding, I think you should do whatever you want.  I would probably want my shoes to be different, but that's just me.  It is a neat way to "tie" things together.  I think it is cool and will look planned.
  • I agree with the ladies who mentioned BM's shoes matching being over the top. However, I think YOU should wear whatever you want to wear on the wedding day, regardless of whether or not you'll be matching the BMs! :D
