I will probably go see it in a week or so to let the crowds die down.  What I am curious about, since I read the book, is where they are going to stop the first movie.  With Harry Potter and the Twilight series it was pretty obvious where they were going to split the movie, but this one I just can't figure out.
This. I feel like making it into 2 movies will really screw up the momentum of the story as there isn't really a good place to stop.

I was really skeptic going in about how they would smoothly cut the story line for two movies... I thought they did a great job. People who didn't read the book will be left hanging, and IMO it didn't interrupt anything major. The movie cut off at a good time.
I just saw it, and I have to agree! I thought they did a good job.

  • Just saw it ... really enjoyed it!
  • Guys I'm way behind, but I just saw the first Hunger Games movie last night (ABC Family). Now I have to see the second one before Mockingjay, obviously.

    I've never read the books.

  • I'm trying to find people to go with. H hates The Hunger Games (although he's never seen them or read the books), and doesn't want to go.  Plus, since he hasn't seen the first two, he'd be totally lost.

If I can't find anyone to go with, I'll probably end up going alone.

I thought it was great. This is coming from someone who REALLY didn't enjoy the book.

  • I agree with @sarahufl.  I loved the first two books and wasn't really wowed by the third (Katniss goes from an independent, thinking person to a pawn), but I was really pleased with the movie. It was truer to the book than either of the other two were, I suspect because with more time, they could include all of the important happenings.

@huskypuppy14 - the second movie is on Netflix if you happen to have a subscription :)

Thanks! I actually saw it last night on Netflix. Now I'm all caught up.

  • Just saw it last night! Loved it. My friends and I are Hunger Games nerds and we all though the movie might be better than the book (just for Mockingjay) and I think that proved true. I liked where it ended too, setting up for a great 2nd movie.
