Wedding Woes

Weekend is over...Ugh.

I could so have used another day.

How was your TG and rest of the weekend?

Ours really couldn't have been better.  Weds night, friends from SoCal, BIL, SIL, other SIL, and nieces came over for dinner.  We had a great time.

Thursday, TG was very low-key at my parents.

Friday, we did a lot of cleaning and stuff around the house to get prepped for Saturday's party.

Saturday went great.  We had a great turnout.  Everyone loved the house.  I ordered too much food, but oh well.  We'll be eating well over the next week or so.

Sunday, laziest of lazy days.  I showered and put PJ's back on.  We didn't even clean up until last night and then we only half-assed it, ha.

I do have a good 75% of my Christmas shopping done.  Online shopping is my BFF.

Re: Weekend is over...Ugh.

  • Weekend as a whole was good.

Thursday we took PF to see Frozen on Ice which she LOVED! (if you're my FB friend you might have seen a pic from before the show). Then we headed to my IL's.

SIL and her family were there. Our nephew is clearly the favorite grandchild (boy, and has no issues). He's a terror. No discipline and a whiny brat. Also his nose is ALWAYS running. I've never seen that kid without gobs of snot coming out of his face.

We had planned on staying at my IL's until Saturday. Instead we went home Thursday night. I'm so glad we did it. I was actually kind of uncomfortable there. Whatever. NBD.

Friday we hung out. Took PF to the park and ran some errands. Saturday we had a co-ed baby shower to go to. Sunday we went out to the very Chinese neighborhood in Queens for AMAZING dumplings with some friends.

Luckily I'm at the point where all I want to do is eat, so lunch yesterday was AWESOME.
  • I'm not ready for real life this morning.  5 glorious days off of sleeping, gaming, reading, playing with the dogs, and generally nothing has spoilt me already.  TG was fine.  I just wanted to be home, so we came, warmed up the already cooked stuffs, ate, and went home.
  • Wednesday- loaded up and headed to no man's land.  The kids were awesome and actually slept.  I was out by the fire with my brother, sister, and 2 cousins.

Thursday was food coma and booze.

Friday- took the kids to my parents and started furniture shopping early. Oh, and got my first paycheck in years!

Saturday- record fast shopping, finished Christmas shopping, and made it home in time to get the second half of the OSU game.

Saturday night- gorge fest at Ruth's Chris.  It was awesome.

Sunday - cleaned then went to get the kids

Here I sit with hours of work.

  • TG was good. My sister hosted with the husband. The food was really good. I did revolt when my younger cousins left around 5 to go shopping. They didn't listen, and came back two hours later with all of their loot.

I did my fair share of online shopping and store shopping on Friday. That's the day you're suppose to do it. I got some great deals and I got my boots, tennis shoes, comforter set, a new pair of glasses(I hope I can see out of them bc they were cheap) and a shower curtain.

I had all of my kids and GK's here for dinner Thurs so that was great.  I did brave Walmart for a little while Thurs. night after I had said I would not.  DD wanted the 50 in. tv for $218, so I made the trek.  But then friday at 4 am both DDs and BFF did the real shopping.  I spent way more than I meant to, but made sure I only got stuff that was an actual good deal and managed to get my Christmas shopping about 70% done.  As usual I am spending way to much on kids and GK's but thats ok, that is what I do!

On a bad note - I warmed up my van for us to leave for shopping on Fri. and when we started to leave it would not go in reverse.  My transmission is gone!  We just replaced the one in DH's work jeep 2 weeks ago - what are the odds.  But, I have my grandparents car so I'm all good.   I told DH we aren't even going to think about it until after Christmas.  He is working crazy long hours delivering mail right now and I'm shopping, lol.  Anyway, I'll fix it after and all will be fine.

  • I did NOTHING for thanksgiving...and it was GLORIOUS.  Usually I help, this year I did...well, nothing.  I mean, sure I helped in the kitchen and set the table, but that doesn't count.

Buffy spent the day before w/ her aunt, and the day after w/ my folks.

Friday AM, the Mr. and I stumbled to our meijer around 5:50 for the 6am sale, got #7 of 8 Wii U's there, and were back in bed by 7.

Buffy was a challenge for the weekend, for no good reason.  We went to the tree lighting and parade on Friday eve. but left before the parade was over because she was being a terror.  then Saturday we did as little as possible.  Sunday too :)
  • I've been off for 5 days and I do not want to be back at work. I'd like to have the day off to recover.

Wednesday I had both kids at home and we got some stuff done for Thanksgiving and DD's birthday party.

Thursday we went to my parent's house. It was glorious not dealing with the IL's. Drank too much wine, champagne, and Bloody Mary's.

Friday I went with my sister and mom out wedding dress shopping. I will post a pic of her dress. I'm so excited for her- the dress is gorgeous! Then came home and scrubbed the house for the party.

Saturday morning, I got up and ran some last minute errands then we had everyone over. DD had a blast. Sunday we had brunch at my SIL's house. DD decided she is going to walk more because you go places quicker than crawling. DS is in a pouty mood lately so I think being back at daycare will be good for him. He needs routine.
  • I'm still laughing about my cousin swallowing a quarter at my uncle's wake.
  • Wednesday I spent the evening with my parents.  H came over after he was done having drinks with a work friend.  When my mom proceeded to drunkenly insult him, that was fun.  I was not happy about that.  And THAT folks is why I'm afraid to drink.  Yep.

Thanksgiving day was fun.  We got to see my Aunt/Uncle and talk about possibly buying their baby grand and being gifted their furniture.  And then got to see sMIL's family and enjoy good food and good company.  Got home around 6pm on Thursday to start working on the house.

Friday was working on painting ceilings and priming stuff.  Saturday was the same, Sunday I slept in until 10:30am, then finished painting two rooms.  Pulled up the tape, plastic and rosi paper.  It looks lovely.  I'm happy with it.  With the new flooring it'll be awesome.  Yay for fixing up your house before you sell it.
