@sarawifenow I feel like times move faster as I get older, it's a crazy thing! What has been the biggest adjustment since you have gotten married? Or did you live together before you got married?

We lived together for almost 2 years before we got married. It does feel different...better...though. I think that the sense of permiancy is really comforting and knowing that I am going to sleep next to my husband every nigh makes me super happy.

Aaaaw boo that you can't get the dress picture to work. You can paste the link to the designer's page. That's cute that you met in high school, I don't really know anyone who is with their high school spouse lol. Living together will be an adjustment for sure but all you need is open communication. If his clothes on he floor are bugging you- say something. If he isn't helping enough with the chores- say something. But in a calm way. Don't wait months bottling it up and then freak out on him lol.

We are renting an apartment, we're not really ready to buy a house yet (I want to have a full time job first).

Patience! haha I had never lived with a man before. Growing up it was me and my mom. SO big change. Still adapting after 3 months. Im kinda iffi with him atm for not helping around as much and me having to do a lot while studying.

jenna8984 That's true! Here is a link for my dress. I am having the sleeves taken off, and adding a belt! It's really light, which is what I wanted for my outdoor ceremony. It's actually pretty common to marry your HS sweetheart in my neck of the woods, lol.

JaniV123 I will try my best to have patience! Yeah, thankfully I won't have anything to study for when we move in together. We've already discussed what we thought would be our biggest challenge, and we agree that it will be finances. I won't have a full time job, so that will make things a little more difficult! We'll just have to wait and see how it goes, lol.

@futuremartin2015 I really enjoy the fifth graders. I taught 2nd and 3rd before moving up, and after being with the older kids I couldn't imagine going back to primary grades. The little ones are cute but I am definitely more suited to the older grades. If you ever need any teaching tips or resources don't be afraid to PM me!

That makes no sense whatsoever. The dishwasher gets way hotter than any water I'd ever use to hand-wash. Plus sitting out in a dish rack or drying them with a scummy towel just gives more chances to re-germify them. Dishwasher for life.

Best advice I can give for living with someone for the first time is keep in mind that he didn't grow up in your household, so he is not going to do things (even seemingly logical, mindless tasks) the exact way you do.

Some of the biggest fights FI and I had in the beginning were over how to cook certain meals, which brands to buy, how to fold laundry, and when the house got cleaned.

And TALK ABOUT IT. If something bothers you, tell him. Don't just assume he doesn't care and let it boil in you until you explode. Example: FI would leave dirty dishes in the sink all the time. In my head I was like, "This MF'er doesn't know how to clean up after himself and I'm not his mom!!!!!" But I wouldn't say anything until I got pissed enough to explode about it. After FI recovered and decided he still loved me in spite of my craziness, we takled about it and I realized he wasn't leaving dishes in the sink to spite me or to make me clean up after him, he just didn't think it was a big deal to wash the dishes every day. All that could have been avoided if I'd brought it up weeks before hand lol

Good luck!!! And vent here when you need to, we're great at helping rationalize things.

lolo883 He worked at a meat packing plant in HS, so he's really weird about those kinds of things. As long as I'm not doing the dishes, it doesn't bother me! lol
