    Dawson or Pacey?

Hi! That cute little reindeer in my pic is my boy, Huckleberry. He was dumped and totally picked me to be his momma. Therefore I feel like his adult/senior years must be kickass to make up for previous poopy owners. Here's another for good measure.

    This dog. WAY TOO CUTE!

I know, right?! I still have a hard time thinking about what kinda of POS could leave this sweet boy. Total cuddly love monster. More snuggles for me.

  • OP, I like you.  I can even overlook the "not liking mayo on sammiches" part (I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU GUYS).

jenna, just try creative Google-ing!  (That's the second time I've used that word today.  I'm grossed out with myself.)  Or find a good site (tumblr has shit tons), here are two of my faves:

    Yay!

I tricked FI one time with baked panko breaded shrimp and sriracha mixed with mayo. He ate the shit he claims to despise all for the love of shrimp. I am more accepting, but I consider that a dip. Kinda.

@lolo883 I've asked this before but I'm still computer challenged- how do you guys find the gifs???!?! I can legit never find any.

Google image search <whatever you are looking for> gif.
K I'm officially an idiot. I would always search in normal google, not images.

  • Welcome! What are your thiughts regarding Elf on the Shelf?
  • @jenna8984 - That's what I just did to lose my gif virginity. In the same idiot boat.

I feel so empowered now that I have learned a new skill. I may do away with words and communicate solely through gifs.

If he comes with alcohol, I could be his friend. As long as he's not selfish and shares, that is.

  • @maeday2‌ , he jacked my wine on Sunday and I made him sleep with the dogs. I think he learned his lesson. I think the freezer reminds him of home. And he lines vodka.

    Hi!

I guess the romantic answer is let him turn me zombie so we can be together?

Nah - He's taught me too much as far as weaponry goes, he's a goner.

  • Congratulations and welcome!!  May is a good month!  What part of the country are you in if you don't mind me asking?  My wedding is July of 2015.  Adorable dog!  How awesome of you to rescue him. :)  Huckleberry is such a cute name too!  My brother's dog is named Huckleberry. :)

Feel free to ask away!  There are no silly questions in my book. :)

  • Hi @kmbay84

Thank you and congrats to you too!

I am originally from south Louisiana, and that's where the wedding is. My FI lives right south of Memphis, in Mississippi. I currently live in east Tennessee. A geographical mess, for sure.

Huckleberry popped up right before a late summer thunderstorm and was drenched from I assume being in the river. I jokingly told him he came down the river like Huck Finn, and it stuck. So cool he shares a name with your brother's dog - good taste!

  • Thank you @mayday2!

Very cool!  I have never been down that way, but I have always wanted to visit that southern area.

Aww...poor guy!  How wonderful of you to take him in! That is cool! Aww..thanks, it seems you guys both do. :)  My brother's dog was actually a rescue dog as well now that I think of it.  They were actually going to put him down because he had been in the pound for awhile, but my brother got to him first.

We have all the big thins booked as well.  This is probably a silly question, but how do you feel about your upcoming wedding? Excited? Nervous? Both?

  • Hi, welcome! My wedding is also in May - the 22nd. Have you picked your dress yet?

  • Rescues and pound pups are the best.

I'm really excited about the wedding. When I get nervous I think about dancing my ass off with my favorite people ever and that helps. The only thing I'm nervous about is weather and I can't control that, so it is what it is.

It's going to be a huge amount of change for me in a short period, so that comes with some nerves. Between moving, a new job, living together for the first time, and being away from my friends and family - the adjustment period will be hard and involve lots of wine and dog snuggles. FI is wonderful and promises to do all he can to make it as smooth as possible.

And you said it, there are no silly questions! What about you? Nervous?

  • @pinkcow13 - Hey and congrats!

We almost picked May 22, but Louisiana weather is a fickle thing.

I have! I dreaded dress shopping, but it was over before it began really. I picked the 3rd dress I tried on and would not take it off. The consultant told me I could visit her as much as I wanted. It seriously feels like pajamas, so I intend to get more than one wear out of it. Maybe to the grocery store.

  • Totally understandable @maeday2!  That is a lot of change and a lot of firsts, so I get the nerves! Dancing away with people that love us does sound like fun though!  We will be living together officially after we are married, even though we practically live together now since I am  his place most of the time   That would be hard to be away from family and friends, but I am glad that your FI promises all of that comfort.  Sounds like a good guy. :)

I am in my first year of grad school, I haven't had time to really think about it too much or get nervous.  The semester ends in a week, so I will have more time to be nervous then.  I am both excited and nervous in general.  I get bright red whenever just two people are focused on me, so I am sure I am going to be bright red when I walk down the aisle with my dad.  Bright red and teary, yes, it is going to be awesome.  Although he might be teary too, so at least I wouldn't be the only one.  I am nervous just mainly because I don't want any huge disasters.  I know it's not going to be perfect and that's ok, but I have some friend drama which is probably going to be on my mind and going to make me anxious/jittery. We'll see how it goes.

  • @kmbay84

He is. I'll keep him around. His family is beyond wonderful and accept me as their own, so I know I'll have a support system. I have made friends with some of his friends' wives, so I'm not totally alone.

Bless you for planning and being in school! I understand nerves about all eyes on you. I just expect tunnel vision to take over once I see him. Probably still with some tears though. I think that's fine!

Mimosas and deep breaths can work wonders for those issues!
