    - Nanny for the summer time! Those girls snitched on me for everrrything and made me feel like a bad person lol

    - Genomics research lab assistant.. I cleaned glassware and made the gels to run the DNA through. Also used the cotton gin to remove the seeds from the cotton. I hated this job. They paired me up with this coworker who eventually raped me in a storage closet.

    - Victoria's Secret for like 4 years

    - Nurse tech, where I became very thankful for my aides/techs

    - Registered Nurse

    Highschool:
Canadian Tire - Automotives Parts Girl
    - I loved and loathed this job. It paid well, I was making 6.10$/hr to my friends 5.90! (Man I feel old),  I was this tiny 4foot10, 15 year old , gingerkid with no initial knowledge of vehicles so everyone underestimated me. But my old brother had got me the job (he worked as a mechanics assistant there) and he and I spent a weekend together with him teaching me as much as he could about things I would come across working the parts counter. So my co-workers loved me because I surprised them.
    - I got a lot of verbal abuse in this job from customers. Lots of old farmers didn't believe a girl should be working in automotives and either didnt believe I knew what I was doing or outright refuse to be served by me. I called the cops on one guy it was so bad. My dad happened to be in the store when another guy was yelling at me. That was a fun one. I don't think i've ever seen my dad so angry.

After Highschool: Archivist at the local museum. Basically take pictures of artifacts with a sequential number and then digitalize the collection. I was secretly dating a co-worker and we were often left alone for 8 hours a day and we made out alot. ha ha

During College and then 5 years after: Administration at Shell Chemicals/Refinery Plant

I made a lot of money here and was able to purchase my own home, on my own at 22 because of it. But I ended up quitting because there were stretches of time they had me working 6 days a week, wednesdays off, 4am-4pm. I couldnt take it anymore.

for the past 4 years I've worked at two different Survey companies doing their payroll. Only reason I left the first is because FI and I moved to another province.

What jobs have I had?  Well it depends on what other people have done.  And then I've done that job better, PLUS have had one harder and PLUS ALSO did I tell you how I helped to end racism?

ANYWAYS.  I think my top three interesting jobs were:

--Counselor/Teacher at an "outdoor therapeutic school" for at-risk youth .  I lived in the woods with a bunch of teenage gang members.  I ended up quitting when I became disillusioned with such programs....and one of the kids ended up beating me up when I was breaking up a fight.

--Teacher at the DOD.  Worked on an Army base with kids whose parents were either away fighting or who had died in war.  There was an abuse scandal that I attempted to bring attention to the directors, to little avail.  I ended up leaving, and a full investigation was launched not long afterwards, with something like 40 employees being charged with some kind of abuse.

--Courtroom clerk at DC Superior Court.  Basically, I sat in court and helped keep everything running smoothly, which was, to me, a BLAST.  Never a dull moment.

Babysitter - One family had HORRIBLE asshole children, the other kids are great.

Market Basket Cashier - got colds all the time. Quit because it sucked.

Stripper - So many basketball shorts boners. So many. So much money though in a time when I had no bills but my cheap-ass tuition.

Third shift rental person at a ski place -  Fun job until the last two years when they got rid of the housekeeping crew and then decided rental was responsible. So many gross bathrooms.

    Brookstone - Fuck mall retail.

Freelance design for a fairly large outdoor sporting goods company - Spite hire by HR lady who didn't like Marketing Lady. Got laid off as recession started.

Design for one of those tacky-ass free car sales magazines - Swear to god, if I ever see my old boss on here, I'm going to tell her to go fuck herself. Ban be damned, she is the worst. Doubtful it'll ever happen, as she never needs suggestions for anything and is a deluded bitch with a massive ego... which I don't understand because the bitch ain't that fucking cool.

Design for a Chinese flooring company - worked with some really awesome people. Got sexually harassed, got told by the boss that in China we'd be told to stay away from each other. Which was difficult because he was my boss's boss and up my ass about everything. Decided to move back to NH.

Working with my parents - We have a service industry company, I'm a shareholder. It's pretty rad. It gets annoying sometimes, but I love it anyway. Also, I have dual monitors so I can knot and work at the same time.

Oh, probably the most embarrassing one that I didn't add... and it wasn't really a "job", it was a volunteer thing for national honors society in high school....

I dressed up like Fazoli's tomato and danced on the side of the road to promote some fundraiser we were doing there. I don't think even DH knows that....

I know, @jenna8984, it was just brutal. Especially since it was also the world's cushiest au pair job because there was one kid and a full-time housekeeper to cook and clean. All I had to do was hang out with with the cute kid and speak English for a couple hours every afternoon after I got home from the Spanish classes I was taking down at the beach with a bunch of Danish teenagers who let me go out drinking with them on weekends.

I mean, au pairs barely get paid and I know a lot of them end up practically slaves for families, but both times I did it I worked for super nice people with way too much money who just wanted someone to help their kid with their English. It was like a long, free vacation, even if I was only making enough money to pay for bikinis and booze.

I was a cashier and "cook" at a sandwich shop from 16 - 17 going on 18 when I graduated high school. Nothing scandalous but we always got creepy guy customers (all of the employees were women at the time) and one time a really creepy coworker who asked if I would wear these cat ears and tail that he brought in once. He got fired when my boss heard about it because it was sexual harassment (I didn't pick up on it at the time).

During college, I worked as a kennel technician at the local Humane Society. I took care of the dogs and was one of the people that identified the breeds in mixed breeds. Some terrible stories from that job but I won't share them here.

Then I worked as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant, a sales associate in RadioShack and then a tutor for CAD. I'm not counting my undergrad research as jobs even though I did get paid in scholarship money for them.

Lastly, I did a summer internship at a local design firm. Nothing too exciting ever happened there besides the occasional angry client.

I worked at the YMCA as a swim instructor/ lifeguard/ classroom aide.

I worked a few sales associate jobs and as a wedding gift registry advisor.

One of my best jobs was gas dock worker. I got to sit in the sun and read while we were slow and made decent tips while we were busy. All I had to do was hand the gas hose to boaters.

I helped with day of coordinating for weddings in the summer.

Now I'm a third grade teacher!

    Let's see...

    Babysitter through adolescent/teen years
Grocery store in high school - bagger, produce clerk, then cashier/service center
Tutor, nanny, and graphic designer in college
Various positions at a junk marketing company (more graphic design for PR, pricing out things like those direct response cards for commemorative Pope plates, coordinating to print pizza coupons, product management for those little free shampoo samples you get in the mail, analytics to try and figure out why we were bleeding so much money)
Data ninja and boss lady for 2 of the Big 3 automotives

No exciting stories, except the nannying job is where the Lolo nickname came from. Oh and once while I was working with the PR folks some lady wrote us a nastygram saying we were the devil for schlepping coupons for 45c off TWO jars of peanut butter but she's on a fixed income and can only afford ONE jar at a time, even with the coupon. She had photocopied Bible verses, cut them out and taped them to the letter, and highlighted them with crayon.

Babysitter/petsitter from when I was 12 through college.

I started working at an independent bookstore senior year of hs and continued to work there on summer and winter breaks while I was in college.

Nanny for a kid while I was on summer break from collegw for three years.

Reporter, editor, and editorial board member for the student newspaper all four years of college

College internship at two different smalltown newspapers as a reporter and photographer.

Post college worked part-time retail at a small industrial supply company. Yeah...I graduated in 2009 and the job market sucked...

Concurrently worked as a reporter/DJ for a small radio station.

Moved back home in 2010 and worked as a payroll specialist for 3 years at a staffing company.

Currently a contract manager/negotiator for a software company. First job I've had since graduation that has the salary and responsibility that align with my education level. I really love my job and see a ton of growth potential over the next few years.
