  • All the Beyonce haters would have hated the XOXO themed bridal shower I had to be a part of this summer.

And I don't like the Beatles.

    image
I got rid of the first part because I can't even see that. I CAN NOT AND WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT.*

Anyway. I almost choked to death laughing when I read where someone said "I'm a 45-year-old father of 3. The Beatles are the greatest band ever, they did the most for modern music. I like the taste of flour. Beige is my favorite color."

  • If we're admitting to not liking some classic bands... I really don't get what the big deal is with The Who.
  • lacqueredlover; Coach is not high end.
Ah I'm so glad other people feel this way about Coach. I actually just hate coach, but I have fb friends that post pictures bragging about their new Coach bags in that awful "c" logo pattern. Gross.

I kind of feel this way about Tiffany as well, but mostly I think it's super overrated as opposed to actually hating it.

And to the point about knockoffs: what bothers me almost more is when lower end designers sort of knock off high end designs. For instance, one shoe brand (I think Kate Spade) has flats that look almost exactly like the classic Ferragamo flats. It's not explicitly a knockoff because it says Kate Spade or whatever brand it actually is on it, but the point is clearly to trick people into thinking you're wearing the high-end designer.
Similar: I hate when engagement rings are designed to look like a huge rock when they're not. I think most people get halos because they look bling-ier for less money than one big diamond and it feels like you're trying to trick people (I know some people actually just like halos, don't kill me).
  • I kind of agree on the halo thing, even though my ring has a halo. Some are pretty and others are just, meh. I love mine because the center diamond sits above the setting.
What I REALLY don't care for are the rings where instead of one stone in the center, it's lots of little stones that almost (but not really) look like a big center stone from far away.

I won't do the pledge becuase I refuse to say the words "one nation, under god", and fuck you, I'm singing in public!

Maybe I'm slow tonight, but I feel like Doey pulled a CMG with that replay.
Don't know what that is supposed to mean, but I had seen that on Tumblr and then I was reading the most recent posts on here and someone said they thought the whole saying the pledge to the flag or whatever it is in unison thing is kind of weird/creepy.

I can't stand Michael Buble. He's just so boring and generic. I don't get the hubbub.

I'm pretty sure I love him because every time one of his Christmas songs come on, it's one less Mariah Carey song I am subjected to.
  • Add me to the disliking all Beyonce songs club. Also probably a very UO: I can't stand the show Friends.

Am I allowed to say I don't like "All I Want for Christmas is You" now?

Fuck. Now the Mariah Carey version is in my head. But yes, if you are talking about that I fully endorse your dislike. (not that you ever needed permission to say anything!) ;p

Your ring is beautiful--I agree that the diamond being above the setting makes it way better than the rings I'm talking about. Also, the fact that there are diamonds on the band makes a halo way more logical; I think you can tell when people just want it to look like bigger bling.

One of the rings I actually had in mine is one like you described. A high school classmate of mine has a ring that looks like a pretty big princess cut from a few feet away. It's actually four small diamonds arranged to look like one; it looks so terrible up close and makes me irrationally angry.

I also hate heart shaped diamonds, which one of my other classmates has. Just terrible.

This! I hate heart shaped jewelry in general. It looks so juvenile.  My husband knew not to buy me a heart shaped diamond, yuck.
